The losers in this whole saga is clearly the Nationals. They played hard to get with making their top prospects untouchable, and they have Mark Melancon to show for it. Melancon is good, but Chapman and Miller are on an entirely different level.
I completely disagree. The Nationals gave up practically nothing for a huge upgrade on Papelbum. Sure Melancon is not on the same level as some of the other guys but at the end of the day closers can go belly up without warning and leave you with nothing. Chapman was the only guy i would have felt comfortable with sending a top prospect. I'm very happy with the move.
