Below is the Top 100 high school prospects in the country for the 2013 draft. The list is based on future pro potential and was put together with the input of dozens of scouts and college coaches.
This year's high school class doesn't have the top-end talent of last year, but there is some interesting depth, especially with catchers and lefthanded pitchers.
It should be noted that third baseman Drew Ward from Leedy (Okla.) High and shortstop Blake Hennessey from Arlington Country Day High in Jacksonville were not considered for the list, as they are both trying to graduate a year early and their draft eligibility is still up in the air.

The top of this year's draft class isn't nearly as loaded as last year. There isn't a Carlos Correa, Byron Buxton or Lucas Giolito, for example. But, there is some interesting depth in the class.
With that in mind, here are 50 players who just missed making our high school Top 100 list, in alphabetical order . . .
Stephen Alemais, ss, All Hallows HS, New York
A slick fielder with smooth actions and quick, soft hands. Scouts will have to get a better feel for the Tulane recruit's bat, as he missed time this summer with a left shoulder injury.
Christian Arroyo, ss, Hernando HS, Brooksville, Fla.
Team USA shortstop has poise and polish and the sum is greater than the parts when scouts grade out his tools. Arroyo is committed to Florida.
Peyton Attaway, of, Captain Shreve HS, Shreveport, La.
Attaway is an above-average runner with some power potential in his bat. He has a strong arm, but the Mississippi recruit needs to improve his routes in the outfield.
Tres Barrera, c, Sharyland (Texas) HS
A Texas recruit, Barrera has a solid build at 6-foot-4 and 195 pounds. He has a strong arm and also shows some strength at the plate.
Elliott Barzilli, ss, Palisades Charter HS, Los Angeles
The Georgia Tech recruit is light on his feet but may lack the range to stay at shortstop. He has a compact swing and a line-drive approach.
Jake Bauers, of/1b, Marina HS, Huntington Beach, Calif.
Bauers elevated his prospect status with a long home run to center field at the Jesse Flores Memorial All-Star Game. He is committed to Hawaii.
Brantley Bell, ss, Mountain Pointe HS, Phoenix
The son of former major leaguer Jay Bell, Brantley shows above-average instincts, actions and arm strength. He has a projectable frame at 6-foot-2 and 175 pounds and a nice swing with a gap-to-gap approach.
Drew Bostic, lhp, Weddington (N.C.) HS
Bostic—a Clemson recruit—has good size (6-foot-3 and 205 pounds). His fastball sits in the 86-89 mph range and he also has a sharp, low 70s curveball.
Jared Brasher, rhp, Pell City (Ala.) HS
Brasher has a physical frame at 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds. He sits in the 87-90 mph range, but has been as high as 94. He has some length and stiffness to his arm action, which can cause him to get under his 73-75 mph curveball.
Francis Christy, c, Casa Grande HS, Petaluma, Calif.
An Oregon recruit, Christy is a good athlete for a catcher. He moves well for his size (6-foot-1 and 205 pounds), shows above-average arm strength and a compact lefthanded swing.
Trey Cobb, rhp, Broken Arrow (Okla.) HS
Cobb has a projectable build at 6-foot-3 and 185 pounds. His fastball sits in the 88-90 mph range, but there should be more in there as he continues to fill out and gets a little bit better line to the plate. The Louisiana State recruit sometimes gets around his 72-74 mph curveball.
Wil Crowe, rhp, Pigeon Forge (Tenn.) HS
Crowe has a strong, maxed-out frame at 6-foot-3 and 235 pounds. He used his strong legs to his advantage and his fastball sits in the 88-90 mph range, topping out at 92. He also shows a solid changeup and sharp, 76-79 mph curveball. Crowe is committed to South Carolina and scouts love his makeup.
Tyler Danish, rhp, Durant HS, Plant City, Fla.
Florida recruit has performed well at big events. He sits in the 90-93 mph range with a sharp slider, but has a small frame and a whippy, low three-quarter arm action.
Kevin Davis, rhp, Miller HS, Brewton, Ala.
Davis flashed above-average velocity this summer, sitting in the 90-93 mph range with a hard, upper 70s curveball. But there's a lot of effort to his delivery, which compromises his control. Davis is committed to Auburn.
Jason Delay, c, Northview HS, Duluth, Ga.
A Vanderbilt recruit, Delay shows quick feet and soft hands behind the plate. He has a strong arm and a balanced, line-drive approach at the plate.
Joe Dudek, 1b, Christian Brothers Academy, Lincroft, N.J.
Dudek has a smooth lefthanded swing with some power potential and has a knack for centering the ball. As a first baseman, most of his value is tied to his bat, so the North Carolina recruit will have to hit.
Dalton Dulin, 2b, Memphis University HS
Mississippi recruit is a switch-hitting spark plug and an above-average runner. His straight steal of home at the Perfect Game National Showcase was one of the most memorable moments of the showcase circuit.
Dane Dunning, rhp, Clay HS, Green Cove Springs, Fla.
Dunning has a proportioned frame at 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds. His fastball sits in the 88-91 mph range and he mixes in a loopy curveball and a changeup. He is committed to Florida.
Steven Farinaro, rhp, Head Royce HS, Oakland
UCLA recruit has long arms on his 6-foot-1, 175-pound frame. His fastball sits in the 88-91 mph range and he mixes in a changeup around 82 mph and a 73-76 mph 12-6 curveball.
Zach Farmer, lhp, Piketon (Ohio) HS
Farmer has an athletic build at 6-foot-3 and 185 pounds. The Ohio State recruit has an aggressive delivery and throws his fastball in the 88-91 mph range while mixing in a changeup and a slider.
Lachlan Fontaine, 3b, Sutherland SS, North Vancouver, B.C.
Fontaine has a professional body at 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds. He has plenty of arm strength for third base and projects to hit for power with his smooth lefthanded stroke.
Jon Hander, ss, Washington HS, Sioux Falls, S.D.
it's not often that a prospect emerges from South Dakota. Hander has an athletic build at 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds and also plays quarterback for his high school football team. He has some bat speed with a nice high finish and is committed to Kansas.
Brett Hanewich, 3b/rhp, IMG Academy, Bradenton, Fla.
Hanewich is from Rhode Island, but plays at IMG Academy in Florida. The Stanford recruit is a legit two-way prospect. He has a physical build and shows some power as a hitter. On the mound, he has some funk to his delivery, but sits in the 90-92 mph range with a heavy fastball and hard curveball.
Trevin Haseltine, rhp, Wood HS, Vacaville, Calif.
Haseltine has a big, 6-foot-3, 200-pound frame. The California recruit sits in the 90-92 mph range with a lot of armside run, but he's mostly a thrower at this point, rarely straying from his fastball.
Ronnie Healy, c, Jupiter (Fla.) HS
Healy needs to improve his receiving, but offers plenty of intrigue with his arm strength and hard contact at the plate.
Jonah Heim, c, Amherst (N.Y.) Central HS
Michigan State recruit has a big, solid frame at 6-foot-4 and 190 pounds, average arm strength and some power potential as a switch-hitter.
Gosuke Katoh, 2b, Rancho Bernardo HS, San Diego
While he's better at second base because of his average arm strength, Katoh is a very good defender. The UCLA recruit has a handsy swing and good bat control at the plate and is an above-average runner.
Denton Keys, lhp, Rye (Colo.) HS
Keys has a solid 6-foot-3, 185-pound build. The Kansas recruit shows an athletic delivery that produces an 86-88 mph fastball with good life and a developing 76-78 mph breaking ball.
John Kilichowski, lhp, Jesuit HS, Tampa
Scouts have seen Kilichowski for a while now, as he was teammates with 2012 supplemental first rounder Lance McCullers Jr. He has a long, lean frame at 6-foot-4 and 185 pounds. He throws with a low three-quarter slot and pitches in the 86-88 mph range, topping out at 90. He gets good run on his fastball and can throw it to both sides of the plate. The Vanderbilt recruit mixes his tempo well to keep hitters off balance and throws a 73-76 mph slurvy breaking ball.
Ryan Kirby, of, Granada HS, Livermore, Calif.
Kirby has an athletic, 6-foot-2, 180-pound build. He doesn't have loud tools, but he's solid across the board and scouts like the way he plays the game. Kirby is committed to San Diego.
Matthew Krook, lhp, Saint Ignatius HS, San Francisco
Krook has an impressive, 6-foot-4, 195-pound frame. His fastball is in the 88-91 mph range early in his outings, but he'll need to prove to scouts he can hold his velocity deeper in to games. The pitch can also get a little straight. Krook is committed to Oregon and also throws a hammer curveball in the 78-82 mph range and a 83-85 mph cutter.
Scott Moss, lhp, DeLand (Fla.) HS
Moss has a 6-foot-6, 195-pound build and throws his fastball in the 88-90 mph range. The pitch features late life, but he loses a few ticks out of the stretch. The Florida recruit also shows a 72-73 mph curveball that shows flashes, but lacks consistency.
Sheldon Neuse, ss/rhp, Keller Fossil Ridge HS, Fort Worth, Texas
Neuse, an Oklahoma recruit, is a solid two-way prospect. He's an average runner, but moves well. He has a narrow, upright stance but has a nice, fluid swing with some bat speed. On the mound, he sits in the 86-90 mph range and shows good feel for a changeup and a hard curveball.
Arden Pabst, c/1b, Harvard-Westlake HS, Studio City, Calif.
Georgia Tech recruit got some experience catching two first rounders last year. Big, maxed out frame could trigger a move to first base.
Kort Peterson, of, St. Francis HS, Mountain View, Calif.
Peterson is a good athlete with a 6-foot-1, 185-pound build. Scouts have had plenty of looks at him as St. Francis has produced several high-profile players the past few years. Peterson is an above-average runner with a strong arm from the outfield. A left-handed hitter, there's a lot to like about him at the plate, though he has a few things to iron out, mechanically. Peterson is committed to Washington.
Daniel Pinero, 3b, St. Michael's College School, Toronto
Pinero has a lean, rangy build at 6-foot-6 and 180 pounds. He plays shortstop for the Ontario Blue Jays, but lacks the lateral quickness to remain at the position. He does have nice actions and a strong arm, so third base is his likely destination. The Virginia recruit has some looseness to his swing and creates natural loft and leverage.
John Pomeroy, rhp, Mossyrock (Wash.) HS
Pomeroy has a physical, 6-foot-5, 215-pound frame. The Oregon State recruit was up to 92 mph at the Area Code Games with some natural cut and a 71-75 mph curveball.
Corey Ray, of, SImeon Career Academy, Chicago
Some scouts really liked Ray's pure hitting ability and lefthanded swing earlier in the summer, but as the showcase circuit continued, he looked more like a tweener who may be better served spending three years at Louisville.
Kramer Robertson, 2b, Midway HS, Waco, Texas
The son of Baylor's women's basketball coach, Robertson fits best at second base with his soft hands, smooth actions and solid-average arm strength. The Louisiana State recruit is an average runner, shows a quick, compact swing and has very good instincts for the game.
Josh Rogers, lhp, New Albany (Indiana) HS
Rogers, a Louisville recruit, has a good frame at 6-foot-4 and 195 pounds. He has a simple, clean delivery, works fast and throws a fastball in the 86-88 mph range, an 80-81 mph cutter and a 78-80 mph changeup.
Seve Romo, 2b, El Dorado HS, Placentia, Calif.
Romo has a slender build at 6-foot-1 and 165 pounds. He's an average runner, but shows good quickness. The San Diego recruit can get a little inside-out with his swing, but has a gap-to-gap approach.
Kyle Serrano, rhp, Farragut HS, Knoxville
The son of Tennessee head coach Dave Serrano, Kyle has a 6-foot-1, 190-pound frame and a loose, clean delivery. His fastball sits in the 88-90 mph range and he already has feel for a quality changeup with fade. He is committed to play for his father with the Volunteers.
Javon Shelby, ss, Tates Creek HS, Lexington, Ky.
Shelby has a tapered, 6-foot-1, 175-pound frame. He is an above-average runner with a strong arm and a quick, compact swing. Shelby is committed to Kentucky where his brother John played from 2004-2006. Their father, John, played in the big leagues for 11 years and is now a coach for the Brewers.
Darryn Sheppard, of, Dulles HS, Sugar Land, Texas
Sheppard has an athletic, 6-foot-1, 185-pound frame. The Baylor recruit has a nice swing with some strength in his wrists. He's a solid-average runner but will be limited to left field because of his fringy arm strength.
Blake Taylor, lhp, Dana Hills (Calif.) HS
Taylor has a great build at 6-foot-3 and 210 pounds. His fastball sits in the 89-92 mph range and he gets good angle on the pitch. The San Diego State recruit needs to improve his fastball command and also mixes in a 78-79 mph slider with hard tilt.
Matt Thaiss, c, Jackson (N.J.) Memorial HS
Thaiss has a solid build at 6 feet and 190 pounds. He has quick, smooth throwing mechanics and produces accurate throws with solid-average arm strength. The Virginia commit has a simple, balanced lefthanded swing with some power potential.
Taylor Widener, rhp, South Aiken (S.C.) HS
The 6-foot-2, 190-pound South Carolina recruit has a smooth delivery and with a low three-quarter whippy arm action. He works quickly and throws a 90-92 mph fastball and a slurvy breaking ball.
Carlos Williams, of, Covington (Tenn.) HS
Another Mississippi recruit, Williams is one of the fastest players in the country—a legitimate 80 runner on the 20-80 scouting scale. He's a righthanded batter with a flat swing that lacks present strength.
Colin Winters, of, La Costa Canyon HS, Carlsbad, Calif.
Winters has some physicality at 6-foot-3 and 210 pounds. He's an average runner and has some strength in his lefthanded swing, but the tools haven't translated to games quite yet.
Kean Wong, 2b, Waiakea HS, Hilo, Hawaii
Wong is committed to Hawaii where his brother, Kolten, became a first-round pick. Like his brother, Wong has some quick-twitch athleticism in his 5-foot-11, 190-pound frame. He has above-average speed and a compact, line-drive stroke
This year's high school class doesn't have the top-end talent of last year, but there is some interesting depth, especially with catchers and lefthanded pitchers.
It should be noted that third baseman Drew Ward from Leedy (Okla.) High and shortstop Blake Hennessey from Arlington Country Day High in Jacksonville were not considered for the list, as they are both trying to graduate a year early and their draft eligibility is still up in the air.

The top of this year's draft class isn't nearly as loaded as last year. There isn't a Carlos Correa, Byron Buxton or Lucas Giolito, for example. But, there is some interesting depth in the class.
With that in mind, here are 50 players who just missed making our high school Top 100 list, in alphabetical order . . .
Stephen Alemais, ss, All Hallows HS, New York
A slick fielder with smooth actions and quick, soft hands. Scouts will have to get a better feel for the Tulane recruit's bat, as he missed time this summer with a left shoulder injury.
Christian Arroyo, ss, Hernando HS, Brooksville, Fla.
Team USA shortstop has poise and polish and the sum is greater than the parts when scouts grade out his tools. Arroyo is committed to Florida.
Peyton Attaway, of, Captain Shreve HS, Shreveport, La.
Attaway is an above-average runner with some power potential in his bat. He has a strong arm, but the Mississippi recruit needs to improve his routes in the outfield.
Tres Barrera, c, Sharyland (Texas) HS
A Texas recruit, Barrera has a solid build at 6-foot-4 and 195 pounds. He has a strong arm and also shows some strength at the plate.
Elliott Barzilli, ss, Palisades Charter HS, Los Angeles
The Georgia Tech recruit is light on his feet but may lack the range to stay at shortstop. He has a compact swing and a line-drive approach.
Jake Bauers, of/1b, Marina HS, Huntington Beach, Calif.
Bauers elevated his prospect status with a long home run to center field at the Jesse Flores Memorial All-Star Game. He is committed to Hawaii.
Brantley Bell, ss, Mountain Pointe HS, Phoenix
The son of former major leaguer Jay Bell, Brantley shows above-average instincts, actions and arm strength. He has a projectable frame at 6-foot-2 and 175 pounds and a nice swing with a gap-to-gap approach.
Drew Bostic, lhp, Weddington (N.C.) HS
Bostic—a Clemson recruit—has good size (6-foot-3 and 205 pounds). His fastball sits in the 86-89 mph range and he also has a sharp, low 70s curveball.
Jared Brasher, rhp, Pell City (Ala.) HS
Brasher has a physical frame at 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds. He sits in the 87-90 mph range, but has been as high as 94. He has some length and stiffness to his arm action, which can cause him to get under his 73-75 mph curveball.
Francis Christy, c, Casa Grande HS, Petaluma, Calif.
An Oregon recruit, Christy is a good athlete for a catcher. He moves well for his size (6-foot-1 and 205 pounds), shows above-average arm strength and a compact lefthanded swing.
Trey Cobb, rhp, Broken Arrow (Okla.) HS
Cobb has a projectable build at 6-foot-3 and 185 pounds. His fastball sits in the 88-90 mph range, but there should be more in there as he continues to fill out and gets a little bit better line to the plate. The Louisiana State recruit sometimes gets around his 72-74 mph curveball.
Wil Crowe, rhp, Pigeon Forge (Tenn.) HS
Crowe has a strong, maxed-out frame at 6-foot-3 and 235 pounds. He used his strong legs to his advantage and his fastball sits in the 88-90 mph range, topping out at 92. He also shows a solid changeup and sharp, 76-79 mph curveball. Crowe is committed to South Carolina and scouts love his makeup.
Tyler Danish, rhp, Durant HS, Plant City, Fla.
Florida recruit has performed well at big events. He sits in the 90-93 mph range with a sharp slider, but has a small frame and a whippy, low three-quarter arm action.
Kevin Davis, rhp, Miller HS, Brewton, Ala.
Davis flashed above-average velocity this summer, sitting in the 90-93 mph range with a hard, upper 70s curveball. But there's a lot of effort to his delivery, which compromises his control. Davis is committed to Auburn.
Jason Delay, c, Northview HS, Duluth, Ga.
A Vanderbilt recruit, Delay shows quick feet and soft hands behind the plate. He has a strong arm and a balanced, line-drive approach at the plate.
Joe Dudek, 1b, Christian Brothers Academy, Lincroft, N.J.
Dudek has a smooth lefthanded swing with some power potential and has a knack for centering the ball. As a first baseman, most of his value is tied to his bat, so the North Carolina recruit will have to hit.
Dalton Dulin, 2b, Memphis University HS
Mississippi recruit is a switch-hitting spark plug and an above-average runner. His straight steal of home at the Perfect Game National Showcase was one of the most memorable moments of the showcase circuit.
Dane Dunning, rhp, Clay HS, Green Cove Springs, Fla.
Dunning has a proportioned frame at 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds. His fastball sits in the 88-91 mph range and he mixes in a loopy curveball and a changeup. He is committed to Florida.
Steven Farinaro, rhp, Head Royce HS, Oakland
UCLA recruit has long arms on his 6-foot-1, 175-pound frame. His fastball sits in the 88-91 mph range and he mixes in a changeup around 82 mph and a 73-76 mph 12-6 curveball.
Zach Farmer, lhp, Piketon (Ohio) HS
Farmer has an athletic build at 6-foot-3 and 185 pounds. The Ohio State recruit has an aggressive delivery and throws his fastball in the 88-91 mph range while mixing in a changeup and a slider.
Lachlan Fontaine, 3b, Sutherland SS, North Vancouver, B.C.
Fontaine has a professional body at 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds. He has plenty of arm strength for third base and projects to hit for power with his smooth lefthanded stroke.
Jon Hander, ss, Washington HS, Sioux Falls, S.D.
it's not often that a prospect emerges from South Dakota. Hander has an athletic build at 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds and also plays quarterback for his high school football team. He has some bat speed with a nice high finish and is committed to Kansas.
Brett Hanewich, 3b/rhp, IMG Academy, Bradenton, Fla.
Hanewich is from Rhode Island, but plays at IMG Academy in Florida. The Stanford recruit is a legit two-way prospect. He has a physical build and shows some power as a hitter. On the mound, he has some funk to his delivery, but sits in the 90-92 mph range with a heavy fastball and hard curveball.
Trevin Haseltine, rhp, Wood HS, Vacaville, Calif.
Haseltine has a big, 6-foot-3, 200-pound frame. The California recruit sits in the 90-92 mph range with a lot of armside run, but he's mostly a thrower at this point, rarely straying from his fastball.
Ronnie Healy, c, Jupiter (Fla.) HS
Healy needs to improve his receiving, but offers plenty of intrigue with his arm strength and hard contact at the plate.
Jonah Heim, c, Amherst (N.Y.) Central HS
Michigan State recruit has a big, solid frame at 6-foot-4 and 190 pounds, average arm strength and some power potential as a switch-hitter.
Gosuke Katoh, 2b, Rancho Bernardo HS, San Diego
While he's better at second base because of his average arm strength, Katoh is a very good defender. The UCLA recruit has a handsy swing and good bat control at the plate and is an above-average runner.
Denton Keys, lhp, Rye (Colo.) HS
Keys has a solid 6-foot-3, 185-pound build. The Kansas recruit shows an athletic delivery that produces an 86-88 mph fastball with good life and a developing 76-78 mph breaking ball.
John Kilichowski, lhp, Jesuit HS, Tampa
Scouts have seen Kilichowski for a while now, as he was teammates with 2012 supplemental first rounder Lance McCullers Jr. He has a long, lean frame at 6-foot-4 and 185 pounds. He throws with a low three-quarter slot and pitches in the 86-88 mph range, topping out at 90. He gets good run on his fastball and can throw it to both sides of the plate. The Vanderbilt recruit mixes his tempo well to keep hitters off balance and throws a 73-76 mph slurvy breaking ball.
Ryan Kirby, of, Granada HS, Livermore, Calif.
Kirby has an athletic, 6-foot-2, 180-pound build. He doesn't have loud tools, but he's solid across the board and scouts like the way he plays the game. Kirby is committed to San Diego.
Matthew Krook, lhp, Saint Ignatius HS, San Francisco
Krook has an impressive, 6-foot-4, 195-pound frame. His fastball is in the 88-91 mph range early in his outings, but he'll need to prove to scouts he can hold his velocity deeper in to games. The pitch can also get a little straight. Krook is committed to Oregon and also throws a hammer curveball in the 78-82 mph range and a 83-85 mph cutter.
Scott Moss, lhp, DeLand (Fla.) HS
Moss has a 6-foot-6, 195-pound build and throws his fastball in the 88-90 mph range. The pitch features late life, but he loses a few ticks out of the stretch. The Florida recruit also shows a 72-73 mph curveball that shows flashes, but lacks consistency.
Sheldon Neuse, ss/rhp, Keller Fossil Ridge HS, Fort Worth, Texas
Neuse, an Oklahoma recruit, is a solid two-way prospect. He's an average runner, but moves well. He has a narrow, upright stance but has a nice, fluid swing with some bat speed. On the mound, he sits in the 86-90 mph range and shows good feel for a changeup and a hard curveball.
Arden Pabst, c/1b, Harvard-Westlake HS, Studio City, Calif.
Georgia Tech recruit got some experience catching two first rounders last year. Big, maxed out frame could trigger a move to first base.
Kort Peterson, of, St. Francis HS, Mountain View, Calif.
Peterson is a good athlete with a 6-foot-1, 185-pound build. Scouts have had plenty of looks at him as St. Francis has produced several high-profile players the past few years. Peterson is an above-average runner with a strong arm from the outfield. A left-handed hitter, there's a lot to like about him at the plate, though he has a few things to iron out, mechanically. Peterson is committed to Washington.
Daniel Pinero, 3b, St. Michael's College School, Toronto
Pinero has a lean, rangy build at 6-foot-6 and 180 pounds. He plays shortstop for the Ontario Blue Jays, but lacks the lateral quickness to remain at the position. He does have nice actions and a strong arm, so third base is his likely destination. The Virginia recruit has some looseness to his swing and creates natural loft and leverage.
John Pomeroy, rhp, Mossyrock (Wash.) HS
Pomeroy has a physical, 6-foot-5, 215-pound frame. The Oregon State recruit was up to 92 mph at the Area Code Games with some natural cut and a 71-75 mph curveball.
Corey Ray, of, SImeon Career Academy, Chicago
Some scouts really liked Ray's pure hitting ability and lefthanded swing earlier in the summer, but as the showcase circuit continued, he looked more like a tweener who may be better served spending three years at Louisville.
Kramer Robertson, 2b, Midway HS, Waco, Texas
The son of Baylor's women's basketball coach, Robertson fits best at second base with his soft hands, smooth actions and solid-average arm strength. The Louisiana State recruit is an average runner, shows a quick, compact swing and has very good instincts for the game.
Josh Rogers, lhp, New Albany (Indiana) HS
Rogers, a Louisville recruit, has a good frame at 6-foot-4 and 195 pounds. He has a simple, clean delivery, works fast and throws a fastball in the 86-88 mph range, an 80-81 mph cutter and a 78-80 mph changeup.
Seve Romo, 2b, El Dorado HS, Placentia, Calif.
Romo has a slender build at 6-foot-1 and 165 pounds. He's an average runner, but shows good quickness. The San Diego recruit can get a little inside-out with his swing, but has a gap-to-gap approach.
Kyle Serrano, rhp, Farragut HS, Knoxville
The son of Tennessee head coach Dave Serrano, Kyle has a 6-foot-1, 190-pound frame and a loose, clean delivery. His fastball sits in the 88-90 mph range and he already has feel for a quality changeup with fade. He is committed to play for his father with the Volunteers.
Javon Shelby, ss, Tates Creek HS, Lexington, Ky.
Shelby has a tapered, 6-foot-1, 175-pound frame. He is an above-average runner with a strong arm and a quick, compact swing. Shelby is committed to Kentucky where his brother John played from 2004-2006. Their father, John, played in the big leagues for 11 years and is now a coach for the Brewers.
Darryn Sheppard, of, Dulles HS, Sugar Land, Texas
Sheppard has an athletic, 6-foot-1, 185-pound frame. The Baylor recruit has a nice swing with some strength in his wrists. He's a solid-average runner but will be limited to left field because of his fringy arm strength.
Blake Taylor, lhp, Dana Hills (Calif.) HS
Taylor has a great build at 6-foot-3 and 210 pounds. His fastball sits in the 89-92 mph range and he gets good angle on the pitch. The San Diego State recruit needs to improve his fastball command and also mixes in a 78-79 mph slider with hard tilt.
Matt Thaiss, c, Jackson (N.J.) Memorial HS
Thaiss has a solid build at 6 feet and 190 pounds. He has quick, smooth throwing mechanics and produces accurate throws with solid-average arm strength. The Virginia commit has a simple, balanced lefthanded swing with some power potential.
Taylor Widener, rhp, South Aiken (S.C.) HS
The 6-foot-2, 190-pound South Carolina recruit has a smooth delivery and with a low three-quarter whippy arm action. He works quickly and throws a 90-92 mph fastball and a slurvy breaking ball.
Carlos Williams, of, Covington (Tenn.) HS
Another Mississippi recruit, Williams is one of the fastest players in the country—a legitimate 80 runner on the 20-80 scouting scale. He's a righthanded batter with a flat swing that lacks present strength.
Colin Winters, of, La Costa Canyon HS, Carlsbad, Calif.
Winters has some physicality at 6-foot-3 and 210 pounds. He's an average runner and has some strength in his lefthanded swing, but the tools haven't translated to games quite yet.
Kean Wong, 2b, Waiakea HS, Hilo, Hawaii
Wong is committed to Hawaii where his brother, Kolten, became a first-round pick. Like his brother, Wong has some quick-twitch athleticism in his 5-foot-11, 190-pound frame. He has above-average speed and a compact, line-drive stroke
