Bowman Platinum - What is the right price for this product?

Since there is clearly reason to be upset over some changes to the Checklist, what do you think is the right price for this product? Where would it need to settle before you decided to give it a shot?

$50 in a few months. Demand will drop in a few months when other products rollout and I see this being a cheap pickup similar to 2010 Bowman Chrome.

My local shop wanted $129 a box. I though that was way too high for a product like this so I passed and just busted a few packs.

It will drop to about $75, still not a great price, but the fact that Harper is in it will holld prices.

If this product didn't have Harper in it, what other draws would you have for busting it?

I opened a 12 box case, definitely not worth the $95 or so I paid for it. I hit some nice cards (Harper Auto, Wright 60th Anniv Auto, Harper Green Ref, Taillon Auto #/99) and I won't come close to the $1150 I paid.

I would say anything above $70-75 is not worth it, this product is worse than 2010 Bowman Draft Picks, it's mostly the same players, at least for the good players, but BDP has more upside and that is $77 a box.

So the consensus is that this is a lottery ticket for a Harper auto and beyond that, don't expect much.

I could get in at $81 per box dlvd on a couple cases, but seems that still is way too much.

Any product where John McDonald has a total of around 1500 auto relics should never sell for more than $60 a box.

You just summed up in a nut shell the problem with card shops.

Most shops get 1 case direct. Anything past that and they pay distributor prices.


Distributors have been in the $85 range on this one, making $115 the average price on the shelf.

Actually they were asking, $7. That's why I only opened a few packs.
Did pull a Franklin Morales Jersey auto #/99. But I'm done with that product, I've seen enough.

I actually really like a lot of things about this product and the autos look great IMO.

But the execution this year was absolutely terrible . I'd like to say I can't believe Topps keeps pulling this s$&t but they keep doing it because they know it will sell out. They've had so many products recently that should have been great (this one, Topps Chrome last year, etc.) but they screw them up from the collector's persective every single time. I can't remember how many times I've seen a sell sheet, got really excited, and then been disappointed/pissed at the end product.

I was lucky enough to pull the rare Jhan Marinez 2 piece auto relic #ed to 1166

I think this should be priced at $1.99 a pack.
