I've noticed that Jackie Robinson signed his name a number of different ways. I was wondering which one (independent of the card) you preferred:

Independent from the cards posted I would go the following:

On a baseball card: Jackie Robinson
Away from a card in a slab: Jack R. Robinson

No real reasons for those choices, besides the baseball card format as it would most likely list Jackie Robinson anyways :)

Jackie Robinson.
It's the name he's world famous for.

Many athletes sign checks and documents with their full name (G.H. Ruth or Sanford Koufax, for example), but I'd rather have a signature of the name they used as a player than their formal given name.

When Ruth signed for fans, he wrote "Babe."
When Ruth wrote a check to the hardware store, he wrote "G.H."
I'd rather have the signature he wrote as a baseball player, not a regular civilian.

Really interesting point. I always liked signed checks for the provenance and general neatness but I had not considered that one was signed as an "autograph" while the other (check) was signed as a "civilian documentation."
