the Devils will most likely start dumping as many contracts as they can before the trade deadline.

they need to make Cap space if they hope to resign Zach Parise who becomes a RFA after this season.

Brodeur did say a few weeks ago that he understands what needs to be done and if it would help the Devils he would be willing to waive his NTC.

however with Marty making $5.2 million this season and next it will be hard for an already Cap strapped team like the Hawks to acquire him without trading away another huge contract which the Devils will not take in return.
