This TT Rookie Year card is the /100 version. They also made a /91 version. I remember way back before sniping I discovered this auction for the 51/91 in a search with 13 seconds left and ......gone. Never to be seen again. Haunts me!

Love that 2003 Leaf Hard Hats Batting Helmet card. Never seen one of those before. How do they get a curved piece of batting helmet on a card? I'm guessing it's bubbled up a little bit on the card, lol.

I'm not a huge fan of oversized or jumbo sized cards but when this one became available I had to have it. Broke my heart when it arrived. It was in the wrapper it came in and just placed into a bubble mailer. Corners got dinged up pretty good. Oh well.

This next one comes with a little excitement, a little drama and a little mystery. I picked up this card from eBay and not only was it my first Bernie auto it was also my first 51/ Bernie auto. In early 2000's Bernie did not sign like he does today so his autos were a bit harder to come by and a little more expensive. I wanted this card bad. Well I was thrilled when I won. The card arrived in decent time and it was great in hand. I switched it to a better holder and that's when I saw it! When held on the correct angle in the light it looked as if someone wrote on the back of the card 51/51. The ink was very faint but more noticeable in the "/" the in the numbers 51. I was pissed! This was not disclosed in the description. Even if it was disclosed I would want the card. I was just pissed because I doubt I would have had to pay whatever it was at the time for the card with my competition. After complaining to the seller (which I usually suck up things like this) I did not think I should have had to pay this much without the damage being described. I wanted some type of refund. We went back and forth and eventually he stopped dealing with me. So I went ahead and issued my first ever negative feedback for the seller. This was back when sellers can retaliate and there it was....he did it too.... my first ever negative! So in the course of a short time I got my first Bernie auto ever and a negative feedback, awesome! Read the rest of the saga after the pics.

So now the plot thickens. Fast forward about 12 years and I see a post from FCB's @mensgame. Albert Belle 2001 E-X Behind the Numbers Game Jersey Autograph. He was asking about an eBay auction that listed the same E-X product card as mine but this was Albert Belles auto jersey number serial numbered 88/88 and guess what. The same type of writing above the team logo as mine "88/88". To this day I still have no idea what this is all about. I really don't think it is factory. My best guess is the same person owned these cards?? This day in age people do not write on cards so I really have no clue. I would love to know if there are more jersey numbered cards out there with the same flaw.

wow, that's just stupid no matter who you are. UNLESS, it's a kid below a certain age but anyone in a right frame of mind knows better. it is really odd though

I've never came up with a good theory on them. Either the same person owned and do it for some reason. Or the company had done mock ups for samples to see where they wanted the numbering to go on finished product and they got used? Weird for sure. Wondered if it was always that way on the last serial # or others as well.

If it happened to be someone young who owned them before, how many young people would even write that on the back of the card/s. I have some of my cards when I was growing up and I had my initials, or an X through the face of a Yankees player; something like that...:shock:
