This may sound a little weird, but who doesn't have a 1/1 card now days? I remember when they were an amazing thrill to see, find or own. The concept was well received, but as with anything, driven into the ground. I figure anyone collecting a certain set, team, player or theme has probably either pulled or traded for/purchased at least 1/1 card by now. I have seen them as cheap as under $10 at times, so if you want one just for the novelty, it shouldn't be too terribly tough to find a bargain 1/1. I could be wrong though, plenty of low budget collectors who wouldn't spend the $ and maybe have not had the luck to pull one.

There are still some amazing 1/1 cards being made, but the thrill of having just any 1/1 is lost on me now.

Probably my favorite is the Sweet Spot set that suffered the auto bleeding/fading so bad. Thankfully the 1/1 cards for Garvey were not affected and I have the entire run across the issue. They are not conveniently scanned though, sorry to say.

As Phil Hughes the ex Yankee pitcher said and proved with photos on his social media early this year, he signed 74 different "1/1" stamped buyback topps card for Topps, and signed over 700 total cards for them for 2022 issues. So, yeah, 1/1 isnt what it once was

The archive buybacks have taken 1/1s to an even greater level of meh! There are some really cool cards being signed and stamped for that set for sure, but it’s just too easy to stamp any card 1/1 now as a buyback! That leaves Millions of opportunities for 1/1 cards to be made, then repeat the following year because now it’s a 2023 1/1, different from the exact same 2022 1/1 card.

I really need to do a proper scan of my Sizemore collection. I intended to have my Sizemore site built in time for his 40th birthday (8/2/22) but that never happened. Maybe I'll get around to it by his 45th. Anyway, I have something like 150-odd Sizemore 1/1s including plates and M&M reds and such. These are some of the highlights. And a few George Springers, but he's less of a focus.

This is Sizemore's only knob card to date, and his only card issued in 2016 except for the stamped buyback cards in base Topps, 'Recollecting Topps' or something. I just love that the whole hobby output for that year was literally one card and I have it.

2008-sp-1-1-res.jpg I think I now have 14 of these. No idea how many there are, but I've gotten every one that's surfaced, AFAIK.

182 strikeouts, 182 (almost) identical 1/1s. This is a set where the printing plates are actually better than the "true" 1/1 cards since they just made 4 plates, not 4 times 182.

Upper Deck wasn't innocent, they pulled crap like this that was even lazier where they just switched out a sticker:

That was part of my reason for starting this thread. I figured everyone could participate. Who doesn't have a 1 of 1 now days.
