When the temps hit 65 or above with sunshine the "beaches" and lakes fill with people, and you can't find a box fan anywhere to buy. It's a funny thing we use a fan maybe 2-3 weeks out of the year but it's miserable for us if we don't. Haha

Yeah we all have fans down here too. There aren't many days out of the year that we DON'T use a fan.

I have a 25,000 btu airco on each end of the house, ceiling fans in every room and oscillating fans all over. The heat, combined with our humidity, it almost unbearable. I think today's heat index is 115.

I hate you. Right now, it is 95 with 65% humidity here. It sucks. I have to go out ad rotate the tires on the van, for my wife. Definitely NOT looking forward to that!

Haha I lived in Iowa and running my 12hr Pepsi routes it was a constant battle for me going from 70* AC stores to 112-116 outside withe the heat index at 120 or more. Specifically I remember posting in here after one miserable day of 116*, sweating in places I didn't know existed after 13 hours and blew a tire on my 25 mile drive home. Blacktop was ridiculously hot and one lug was rusted on. Took me over an hour to get it replaced and home

Near Philly
Hey everyone. Born and raised in central PA and just now attending the LLWS for the first time.

Philly vs some Texas team.

Where exactly in Central PA? I'm near Lancaster, not quite Central, but close enough.

And have you seen the craziness surrounding the Philly team? More people watched their Cage time than the games going on. Carts for the players, etc. Kinda nuts I hear...

My wife's brother (yes small age gap between them ;) haha) just started college up in the Williamsport area. If we didn't go the Mets game yesterday we would have been up there helping him move in

Good Morning Kiddies
It was a great and late day yesterday, after spending about 4 hours with the Veterans at the Manteno Veterans home. We had a picnic and Music and Ice Cream truck and a beer truck for the men and women of the home. We served over 350 veterans and their families and there was over 100 volunteers. The event it sponsored by the group at UAW local 558 Ford plant in Chicago. And the volunteers are made up from the UAW Region 4 from 4 states and then some of the high schools from around the area as well.

Richard,

That is a GREAT event and I contribute a $1 week (payroll deducted) to that event. When I worked at the stamping plant, I saw the donation jar at the cafeteria counter and always put small bills and change into it. Then saw the notice of payroll deduction of $1 or $5 a week. Knowing I wasnt going to be there long, I went for the $1 and to this day, they still deduct. Glad I can help with the event 350 miles away!
