I think it's a 50/50 chance either way.

Wouldnt surprise me if he is 2 years older than he says, but sometimes when talking to people about stuff that happened in the past I forget the exact year or age I was.

As someone mentioned in the comments under the article, if he's really 38 and having the best season of his career since his age 33 season, it'd be incredible. Perhaps he actually said "thirty, too".
