I purchased this 10-card "set" on eBay.

It consists of 5x7" blowups of Ken Griffey Upper Deck cards from 1989 to 1998.

Cards are printed on front and back, on what seems to be typical UD card stock.

There are no holograms, but grayish diamonds where the holograms were on the original cards.

On the eBay listing, it was described as having been distributed at the 1998 Fanfest. I tried to confirm this with other eBay listings, but they all say different things.

I paid $9.12 total for the set, so I figured it was worth the gamble, if it ends up the cards aren't legit.

Can anyone give me a definite answer on how these cards were distributed, and if they're legit?

Thanks in advance.

They're legit. I've had a few and possibly still do. There are also autographed versions of every years card up to '99 I think. Had a few of those but because of the odd size I traded them

Thanks to both of you for the info. I'll assume they were included as box toppers in retail blaster boxes, and didn't have anything to do with Fanfest.

I own the 1991 card. They were a Walmart promo. They were box toppers in boxes of 1999 Upper Deck Series 1.
