With all of the is this guy a HOFer or not crap lets get a thread going to start the FCB HoRG.

Rules:
Vote for one or many players
No current HOFers

I vote Scott Rolen. I was pumped when he arrived in StL but he never really made it happen due to injuries and such.

Maine of course......
A few who played for the Sox that come to mind-

Dom Dimaggio- 7 time AS, .298 career hitter who also lost prime time to military service
Fred Lynn- would have been a HOFer had he stayed in Boston. Would have been a lifetime .300+ hitter....
Luis Tiant- won 20 games a bunch of times and was always good for 200+ innings
Dwight Evans- multiple GG winner with late career power
Mo Vaughn- Monster years with Sox- another lefty batterwho might likely would have better career numbers with more time in Boston
Nomah- Was destined for Cooperstown before injuries slowed him down- he, Jeter and Arod were THE guys at SS in all of MLB
Johnny Damon- fell short of 3000 hits but clutch player for Sox (and Yanks) in WS

This can get clouded with recently retired, but not yet eligible players, long time and recent snubs for ethics (Jackson, Rose, PEDs, etc), strong candidates on their first couple of years into the ballot, etc. For me, I'll try to keep this to guys who were basically snubbed already with little chance other than the veterans committee vote later (and I will include all 2014 veterans committee ballot members too). This is not a complete list, just the top guys off the top of my head:

Al Oliver
Willie Davis
Vada Pinson
Steve Garvey
Dave Parker
Tim Raines
Gil Hodges
Jake Daubert
Harold Baines
Fred McGriff
Tommy John
Albert Belle
Don Mattingly
Lee Smith
Joe Carter
Jack Morris
Alan Trammell
Lou Whitaker

Tony Oliva

Career Slash Line of .304/.353/.476
8 time All-Star
3 Batting Titles
Led the A.L. in hits 5 times
Rookie of Year in 1964
MVP Runner-Up in 1965
MVP Runner-Up in 1970

Had a good shot at the hall if he didn't hurt his knees.

Ah, he would make my list too. See how easy it is to forget about someone! Out of site, out of mind.

On a somewhat related note, I was shocked to find when I was chasing All-Star players for my autograph collection that Tim Salmon had to be one of the best, if not THE BEST, modern player to have never made the all-star team! Check out his stats and marvel at how this could have happened! He wasn't a HOFer, but you'd think in one of those years, he'd get the nod. A lot of lesser player shave made the trip to the midsummer classic.

Anyone know of a better candidate who never made the all-star roster? i'd love to know of others.
