Memorabilia
1945-46 US Navy Baseball signed by Stan Musial and other members of his Navy Team. Kind of testing the water on this. It comes from Musial's personal collection and includes a number of players who played in the Majors and some military heroes. $600
Some of the signers:
Stan Musial - No introduction needed
Clarence "Soddy" Groat - Played Minor League ball in Montreal . Served as an infantryman in European campaigns and received the Silver Star, Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
Ralph Onis - Had a single at-bat in the Majors going 1-1. Leg was broken when Lou (Chuck) Klein, second baseman for the Cardinals slid into him in 1940.
Lou (Chuck) Klein - 2nd Baseman for the Cardinals. Got MVP votes in his rookie season (1943). Also mentioned above for breaking Ralph Onis's leg. Ironically, they met 5-6 years later in the military.
