Pretty cool. Though the word cache is used way to many times in the article :). Wonder how 7 of the same ended up in the same spot. You would think if it was a collector who went out buying them during his life, they wouldn't have just in a brown bag. And if they were from tobacco packs, you would have thought the selection would be mixed, who knows, but very cool indeed.

There is a thread on net54 about this that discusses a number of theories. Apparently these have only been found in groups like this one, which raises the theory that these were a promo of some sort, printed in a single batch and given away somewhere that found a few people taking multiple copies. Either that, or it was the only card available for a short time within a certain brand of tobacco. Fascinating stuff; theories are all we have.

As a 206 collector I saw this story on yahoo and didn't really read it-didn't realize they are the Ty Cobb backs too. Absolutely remarkable
