Baltimore may need two spot starters in next four days.
Uehara injury may shake up O's rotation

"I don't have a starter today for Tuesday," said Trembley

The Orioles have several candidates to take Eaton's slot, but they've consistently said they want to afford their top pitching prospects more time to develop. With that in mind, Baltimore will likely choose between Jason Berken and Chris Waters at Triple-A Norfolk and southpaw Troy Patton from Double-A Bowie.

The Orioles may tab David Hernandez if Uehara has to miss a start, but the right-hander would have to pitch on short rest to start Tuesday. Hernandez struck out 14 in his last outing for Norfolk.

Re: Hernandez or Patton may be making their MLB Debut....

Roch Kubatko of MASN is convinced that Berken is going tomorrow. This is from Roch's blog:

"Berken is a fastball-slider-changeup guy. His heat tops out at 94 mph. He's going to be around the plate, having walked 49 batters in 151 innings with Single-A Frederick in 2007 and 38 in 145 2/3 innings with Double-A Bowie last year. He's 2-0 with a 1.05 ERA at Triple-A Norfolk, with 19 hits allowed, six walks and 16 strikeouts in 25 2/3 innings."

And Brian Roberts has left the game with a left shin contusion. ::facepalm::
