If it's already yours I'd get it slabbed and never put it in light, again.

Not at all good.
The easiest giveaway is the slant of the "L". Gehrig always signed with the loop L leaning forward, here is is clearly backward.

here is one that i have, the scan is small, but i have no idea how to make it any larger. I dont know if its authentic or not, and have not had the funds to send in to see if it is indeed authentic or not, but it doesnt look that much like the one the OP posted
