i guess the only good thing about tex signing with the yankees is that i was able to make a nice chunk of change for my 2 card investment

i purchased the following

2001 ultimate collection rc auto bgs 9.5 10 auto for around 320
2004 leather & lumber bat barrel & patch #1/1 for 99

sold them both for 1150

so who else cashed out like me with tex's cards?

Saw that sexy texy 1/1 on the bay---was curious how quick that would sell...

Nice flips even if you had to hold them for years..

i paid 62 for my spx

I have it up right now witha $140 bin

it hasn't hit yet

gilmore, lower it to 139.99. just the fact that buyers see a 1 and a 3 in the beginning can make a difference!

Nice, I got a buddy who is sitting on a HUGE stash of his stuff and is getting ready to move most of it...I think he will do very well.

Wow nice stuff man, the best part about an 'investment' like that is that if you never get the opportunity to flip for profit, they're still nice cards to keep.

if tex was a decent rookie prospect today, i could see this, but he has been an established player now for
7 years, why does going to the yankees jam his prices up? is it strictly about yankee collectors?
i would think they would wait for him in a NY uniform. i just dont see why him going to the yanks would cause
his rookie stuff to go up, is being a yankee mean he will hit 60 homers?

I just got $140 for a card I paid $62 for

And now that hes never gonna wear a brave uni agian, I won't miss the card.

The price spike is all about supply vs demand, a new group of collectors want his cards, and they all rush to buy them. That makes demand out pace supply.
