1. Kyle Gibson (MIN) promoted to AA New Britain
2. Brett Hunter (OAK) makes 2010 debut
3. Michael Griffin (CIN) promoted to AAA Louisville
4. Max Sapp (HOU) released

He wasn't the only Astro to get his walking papers.

"The other player who was released was Mitch Einertson. The 2004 fifth-round pick was the Appalachian League MVP that same year. Einertson hit 24 home runs for Greeneville that season, but didn't hit another 24 total home runs over the next two. He spent two years at Corpus Christi but was recently suspended again by MLB for testing positive for recreational drugs. It was a pretty sad end to a promising Astros prospect, on both accounts."

I invested in Einertson in the winter of '08 after everyone had given up on him. I knew it was a long-shot, but the potential was there. He just couldn't stay away from the drugs...
As for Sapp, he never played another game after a serious bout of meningitis that landed him in an ICU on a ventilator.
So, 2 prospects whose careers are finished for 2 polar-opposite reasons...
