It could be a good thing all around...

Hawksworth is a starter. PERIOD. He has started his entire professional career until LaRussa put him in the pen.

Do you remember the 15 inning HUGE WIN we had last year in which Hawk pitched 3 scoreless innings??? His velocity got better, the movement got better, and his comfort level got better as the pitch count went up.

PJ isn't ready, Lohse is hurt and isn't going to have a starting job handed to him when he returns.

If Hawksworth does well as a starter then its good for the Cardinals, Hawksworth, and ME :mrgreen: !!!!!

He was doing fine (0 earned) until the groing injury happened.

It will be interesting to see how he does.

I'm hoping for a good outing as a Cardinals and Hawksworth fan.

Hawks has looked awful for most of the year.. seeing him starting tonite was like the feeling I got when Kippy Wells was pitching for us..not alot of confidence. Im not sure that hammy screwed him up or what but I see a trip to Memphis in his future. He looked alot better late last year!!

I doubt it without giving up to much. Millwood and Westbrook come cheaper
since the O's and Indians are mostly done for the year so salary relief
I wanted to get Buehrle when he was a FA

All I can say is ouch.

The first inning wasn't as bad as it looked and his 2nd and 3rd were great, and then.....

I guess I'll keep looking at the best Blake Hawksworth stash ever for a while longer. Maybe he'll get picked up by another team in a year or 2 and get to start there.
