21 Straight outs/1 hit shutout. Only faced 1 over the minimum and that was a double early on in the game.

Amazing performance. For all the talk about how bad the Mets starters would be this year they've really pitched will with the exception of Oliver Perez and John Maine(neither of which are on the major league roster right now)

Probably not thread worthy but its pretty exciting to see such a great performance from a Mets starter.

Man it seems there are a lot of guys not on the stuff and the pitchers are getting ahead of them more this season.

But still nice outing

I thought it was thread worthy. Just watched the game, and he looked great. Glad he is stepping up for us.

It was an excellent game to watch tonight. Niese pitching was a pleasure to watch. Only 108 pitches for the 1 hit complete game shutout. Padres also turned a triple play, with the ball hit hard at the 3rd baseman, which was right by the bag, so he steps on it and throws to 2nd, and on to 1st. Was an excellent play.
