Always one of my favorites since 1965 when I found out Richard Killebrews uncle was Harmon, a real life baseball player. Richards dad was also a marine, like mine, and I was invited to his birthday party. I won 14 cents in a bingo game, and actually held that fortune for months because of the magical connection...
I hope the very best for him, and he is in good hands with the Mayo Clinic.
I remember when I was 8 and I was watching ESPN Classic and they used to air the old Home Run Derby programs. When I saw the Killer mash home runs 500+ feet I was hooked instantly. He has been my favorite old time player and always will be. Hang in there Killer!
He'll be in my thoughts and prayers, as I'm sure most of Twins territory and baseball fans across the nation will too. Hope you have a full recovery killer
I've had the pleasure of meeting Harmon many times, and he is a absolutely great man. He's always in a good mood, and will talk to you about baseball. He still has one of the strongest handshakes I've experienced. Get well Killer!!
