2011 Gypsy Queen- 4 Hits, 2 AUTOS and 2 RELICS (Poll Added)

There have been mixed feelings about Topp's newest lineup, Gypsy Queen but I personally think the initial auto checklist looks pretty solid along with 4 hits (2 autos and 2 relics) per hobby box.

Gypsy Queen is a real winner from a hits perspective:

2011 Topps Pro Debut Hobby Box- 4 hits, 2 AUTOs and 2 Relics for $40.
2011 Topps Series 1 Jumbo Box- 3 hit, an AUTO and 2 Relics for $130.
2011 Topps Heritage Hobby Box- 1 hit, either an AUTO or Relic for $80.
2011 Topps Gypsy Hobby Box- 4 hits, 2 AUTOs and 2 Relics for $100.
2011 Topps Tribute Hobby Box- 3 hits, either AUTOS or Relics for $250

I am purely interested in hits and not collecting bases or parallels so to me I see it this way:

2011 Topps Pro Debut Hobby Box- 4 hits, 2 AUTOs and 2 Relics for $40.

2011 Topps Heritage Hobby Box- 1 hit, either an AUTO or Relic for $80.

2011 Topps Tribute Hobby Box- 3 hits, either AUTOS or Relics for $250

Aside from the lowerend Topps Pro Debut the Gypsy Queen is a real winner from a hits perspective.

When is it due to be released. I think it is nice upgrade over Chicle and T206. Has a chance to be a big hit for Topps.

It's not the quantity of hits, but the quality that matters. I'll wait before I pass judgment, but nothing in the pre-sell info excited me. Then again, anything is better than National Chicle.

Personally i won't touch the product as the designs it draws from have no relevance to me.

Heritage does because i recognize those cards.

I'm 90% prospects and 10% base topps and topps heritage. These other retro sets i can appreicate but wont actually buy. But that's just me.

This product looks terrible, but I'll reserve judgement until after I see it in person.

I won't bust a drop, but if it is better in person I may add Cardinals and Tulo cards to the PC.

I'm wondering if that gypsy queen jewel card depicts a real gypsy, or it was just some girl they got from Carlsbad, CA, got a make-up artist to make her look like a gypsy, then had her pose for the photo.

If they have the exact same gypsy chick on each of the jewel cards, i'm going to boycott the product.

I do not admit that. Both in my opinion are pretty worthless.

I thought the Chicle autos looked great (although I know I'm REALLY in the minority on this). I'm glad the Gypsy Queen autos are on-card but I really hate the design.

Eye of the beholder, I guess.
