A friend of mine was drafted in the 40th round with the 1,227 pick by the San Francisco Giants. Alan Garcia from my hometown, Hermosillo, Mexico. He was drafted in his second year.

Do you guys know what's the usual bonus for a player in the 40th rounds? I'm almost sure he won't sign this year, but just out of curiosity.

Do you know or can you estimate the % of players that sign around this high rounds?

Thanks

I was curious about that myself. My brother's/nephew's teammate from my HS alma mater was drafted in the 22nd round by the Cards, but he's going to go play at Alabama since he didn't get drafted higher.

One of my son's old teammates was drafted out of high school by KC in about the 47th round 2 years ago - got him a plane ticket to Arizona.

I would guess between $1,000-$10,000.

College Seniors drafted this late usually get $1,000 and plane tickets.

I agree. That high of a pick usually does not get "big" money.
They are happy with a $1,000, a plane ticket, and a shot at the show.

Thanks =)
