With Wimbledon in full swing and last week's Hot List featuring a homemade card at the top...I decided to do a little looking as to what was out there on Tennis Cards - I was honestly pretty surprised. Some of these sell for big bucks:

Federer Auto - [phil:27195dt2]220804174174[/phil:27195dt2]
Nadal Auto - [phil:27195dt2]220799340766[/phil:27195dt2]
Venus Williams Auto - [phil:27195dt2]260805704636[/phil:27195dt2] - WOW
Serena Williams SI for Kids card - [phil:27195dt2]260629824962[/phil:27195dt2] - is this anything like Tigers' SI for Kids?
Sharapova Auto - [phil:27195dt2]220798594549[/phil:27195dt2]
Pete Sampras Auto - [phil:27195dt2]330565968739[/phil:27195dt2] - still big bucks for a retired guy..

Anyone think a tennis card has the chance to do what Rory's cards did after the masters?

Tennis cards can be a gold mine

Supply < Demand

I would imagine Federer and Nadal were both ridiculously hot at different points in time.

Some interesting Agassi stuff out there.

[phil:2njiz8s0]110408248256[/phil:2njiz8s0] - 1987 Panini
[phil:2njiz8s0]180624702019[/phil:2njiz8s0] - Matchworn Shirt
[phil:2njiz8s0]320684405066[/phil:2njiz8s0] - BGS 9.5 1991 Netpro

What I don't see is 1. any autographs and 2. any cards commemorating the enormous amount of Cannon Rebel commercials he did ;)

Only ones listed in Beckett are by "Ace Authentic" from 2005/2006/2010. Nothing higher than /100 though.

He was my all-time favorite too. I actually had an Agassi model racket when I was younger.

In 2003 a set called Netpro came out with a 100-card set, with #'s 91-100 being short-printed at one card per box. I remember it was a pretty hot set at the time, with the SP Anna Kornakova going for at least $50. I've got a complete base set plus about half the SP's. Never really got interested in it even though I used to play tennis. I believe Netpro stuck around for a couple of years and even included autographed and relic cards in later issues.

The set got hot again a couple of years ago because it has the "rookie card" of Nadal in it.

Thanks for the heads-up, I bet those sell well, none on ebay at the moment.

Nope, just about a dozen relic versions.

There are 575 total through the 3 years, varying from /25 thru /100 versions. Plus 8 1/1s. Not very many at all.

Man, I always thought that was an untapped market for the right set. Especially in the 90s before Tiger got huge UD golf came out, I thought a Country Club Finest with golf and tennis together would be incredible.

With the success of the Leaf Ali set, I wonder if it is something that Brian has considered doing.

I haven't been a fan of any of the tennis sets in the past 20+ years and I'm a big tennis guy. I hope Leaf gives it a shot, Phil. I'd like to see what they can put out there. I think a product with the big hit being a 1/1 ticket slabbed or piece of a ticket from each of the 4 grand slam finals signed by both the men's and women's champ would be huge. Would obviously have to be a redemption if it's an early to mid-year product.
