I think Adrian Gonzalez has the edge in the AL although haven't compared stats lately. Bautista ain't hitting homers like he was.

Verlander definitely CY Young but I would put Sabathia second. Was not impressed with Weaver the other day in duel with Verlander. Maybe I'm being harsh for his antics but he carried himself like a turd.

I may be in the minority but I agree with you on Kershaw over Halladay. I thought that could happen all along.

I can understand people's argument for AGon over Bautista. Two things made me put him #1: AGon has guys like Pedroia and Ellsbury putting MVP type seasons up as well...and Bautista ginormous OPS is just too friggin big to ignore.

went and looked at some stats :post all star break Gonzalez has been tearing it up while Bautista has been cooling off. I agree with what you are saying about the supporting cast but gotta think Gonzalez could be hitting more homers if he wasn't concerned about just driving in runs and had folks on base to drive in. Prior to All-Star game I would have said Bautista but I don't know if it's even close now considering what Gonzalez is doing avg and RBI wise and Bautista may get stuck in the 40's in terms of HR's.

on the NL side - I think Kemp has the edge right now with avg, homers and look at 28 SB. He definitely will get 30/30 outside shot at 40/40.

This list sucks.

Denard Span is batting like .291, retard. Obviously not worthy of #1.

I think you have to consider Brandon Inge over Span, Montero, and Callaspo. Montero just isnt selling so well; MVP-types need their rookie cards to stay profitable all year long.

As for the Cy Young, I dont see how you cant give it to Sabathia. I mean, look at the wins. Fister has 12 losses, so he really sucks. DeShields has the same problem as Montero- his Bowman cards are all low-mid end and not on the hot list right now. Bleaugh.

No one in major league history has gone .320 or even .310 with 40 homers 40 steals and 110 rbis. Let's go Matty. Can't imagine the numbers if he were in say Boston, as compared to being in possibly the worst offense i've ever seen. Dodgers would have 20 wins without him.

I think if Upton keeps this going and the Dbacks win the division he has a shot. Just noticed today the Pujols backwards is slo j up.

I think Jurrjens has to be in the top 5 for NL Cy young. At least over Hanson.

Maybe Verlander can join Willie Hernandez as a pitching MVP. Doubt it though. For some reason no one wants to vote for pitchers anymore.

I'd vote for him right now. I think if he were to get a second nh he'd been a frontrunner. Pitcher has to do something out of this world.

You might be right on the 2nd no hitter. If he were to get another, plus the 2 he almost got as well. He would have an otherworldly season. It's really impressive that he almost has 3 already this year.

If Pedro did not get the MVP in 99, no pitcher should ever be in the discussion for MVP again.

I doubt any will again. For some reason people stopped considering pitchers for MVP. They used to win and be in the discussion though. It might take a pitching decade to change it again.
