Terrible Box, Worse service

I got 2 boxes of A&G last week. I busted one live and didnt even bother posting the other. 3 Hits were missing, almost no inserts and 3 total minis in the box. In addition, about 90% of the cards were bent, dinged, etc. Still had the factory seal on it and came from a hobby shop Im very familiar with and the box was with the other one from a case opened the day before.

In any case, I emailed Topps to ask about replacing this disaster of a box. I explained that in addition to this box, I bought another A&G box from the same case that was perfectly fine, as well as 5 Topps boxes that were fine. I wanted a response of some kind, but I got nothing. Maybe I didnt wait long enough. So 2 days later, I send our member DINANBBS a message about the situation, asking if there is anything that can be done. That was on the 8th. The PM was read but no reply as of today. Also no response from topps to the email I sent either.

Am I going about this the wrong way? Is there something more I can do? Should I email topps again and note that I emailed them once with no response?

Id be interested in any suggestions.

Yes, it's frustrating, took me many months before I had my redemptions issue resolved. However, the wait time has never been more than a few minutes. I would suggest calling back at different times, you may get thru right away when it's less busy. I find the phone is far better, I've never gotten anything more than a standardized replay when I had emailed them.

Mike has been very good to these boards, perhaps he needs to check on it. Of course you are going to send in
your UPC's but I would wait a few more days to see if Mike has an answer for you.

sorry to hear that your 2 boxes were missing hits and damaged. honestly, it does suck that you didnt get the advertised contents...

i do however, think it's best to directly reach out to topps and i know you did but it's only been 5 days to topps and especially dinanbbs (mike)...can you imagine how many volume of pm's and emails he gets?

i will just say that dinanbbs (mike) has personally helped me and alot of others here on fcb with extraordinary customer services. stuff that i could complain about, i kept between myself and topps, and was always resolved.

i think you just need to be patient. cant expect everything to work the way you feel it should. just wait until he pm's you back or topps cs replies back. give it like 2-3 weeks. he's always taken care of fcb members on his own time, and i dont see why he wouldn't with your issue

this isn't specific to you, op, so dont take it wrong but for all who's had issues with topps or leaf, just keep it between yourselves and the company via email or pm. we have two great reps from topps and leaf (mike and brian), going out of there way to help, assist, making things right while doing their own work. these people have better things to do but still do what they do here to keep the collector's happy...and that's A+ in my book!

just give it time, and be patient. i dont see why mike wont assist you here.

Absolutely agree with daveyou.

Also, what has worked for me in the past is to repeatedly call their customer service main line, and if you get to the point where you're on hold or have to leave a message just hang up and call right back. Do that over and over until someone picks up immediately. It typically takes 5 - 10 calls before someone will answer.

Just 1 of my boxes had everything missing. The other one was just fine and actually produced a PC auto for me (Dick Vitale), but what one delivers doesnt change that the other one was a disaster.

I have no issue with waiting longer, it just seemed strange that the message was read a week ago but no response, even if it were "Let me see what can be done and I will get back to you" or something like that.

I appreciate your point of view and will definitely wait to see if I get a reply in the coming week.

Thanks, I'll have to try this tomorrow, just to get a reply from someone. not necessarily looking for a resolution immediately, just knowing that someone is looking into it is OK with me.

As an hta store, I have to climb mountains, sail around the world on a raft and beat kobe one on one just to get "topps" plastic bags for my store.

no prob, and knowing mike, he'll def reply to you, whether now or a month from now. just know that he gets a TON of pm's so imagine him trying to help everyone on fcb alone on his down time. he really came through for me and countless others here so i would def be patient til he pm's you

that's it? doesn't seem like you did much to get free bags from topps...

ok, on a serious note, i never knew there's a hobby shop at that area! i golf at pelham sometimes, or go to yonkers casino! not the closest but def. will check out your store when im in da bronx~

Could be worse. We busted 6 boxes of 06 draft at the national and 5 boxes were missing autos, and 40% of the parallels were missing.

from a reputable source non the less.

If it's worth the shipping costs to you, you could always send in all the damaged stuff and write a letter saying they were missing hits.

I did that a few months ago and the turnaround was fairly quick.

Thats me, been there for 13 years. When u come by, lmk it's you as I'm nearly always there.....i also have about 100 topps bags left (true collectors item) ;)
