just browsing ebay and saw this was much higher than i expected......am i missing something here?

Wow. I've actually never seen this particular card, and looking at COMC (no Miggy on COMC, BTW), I've never seen half the cards from that set. It's the 2006 Topps Wal-Mart set, I believe they were inserted in special retail packs (not 100%, I wasn't collecting back that). Some of these cards are very easy to find, like the Curt Schilling (I've seen close to 100 in person in dime boxes at shows), but this Cabrera I've never seen (nor the Konerko, on my wantlist).

There's often been talk of retail inserts being harder to find because a lot of "real" collectors are more focused on hobby products. Certainly there's some truth in that, this particular set could end up being an example of this.

He is correct. They were inserted into series one or the update set.

Btw I have the Konerko. Its horribly miscut/off centered though.

The set was numbered to 54, there were supposed to be three groups of 18 (skip-numbered) issued - one each in series 1, series 2 and the update. I used to collect these retail sets. I have the first two groups, but none of the third group. IIRC, they were randomly inserted in packs and in three card "bonus" packs in blaster boxes. They were issued in prior years formats - All 54 would cover the prior years issues from 1952-2005.
