Can water damage REALLY do this to an auto?

Alright, well I'm just going to ask him if the bubble envelope the card came in was damaged and if it was, could I see a picture of it. (I know he could easily damage that himself).

Yeah, it's unfortunate man, but the buyer has all the power for quite a while now. Suprised it doesn't happen more honestly.

Does the card smell like moisture damage? I would think it would have a musty smell, or something.

I definitely think water could have done that, or maybe extreme heat. I remember somebody posted pics (not sure which message board) of a package that literally got cooked somehow. But based on those splotches in the scan, it looks like water got in the toploader.

I'm not comfortable leaving the name out there until I know for sure he's scamming me and it is up in the air at this point. The card could have been damaged in transit or he could've done it himself. Either way, it wouldn't take you much research to find out who it is.

I can understand why you'd think it was buyers remorse over a $85 auction. But for $8.50??? The guy has 100% feedback and buys Chrome USA Autos. Doubt he is trying to scam you.

Which is why I don't buy/sell prospect stuff.

(1) Buyer buys card
(2) Buyer gets card in hoping to be able to get a GEM grade.
(3) Sees card is off center.
(4) Microwaves card
(5) Gets money back.

Yeah, I can see no reason the buyer would be trying anything here and the card is obviously the same (albiet damaged). I would have just refunded and quietly moved on.
