Anyone with an over/under on how many hits they both allow combined? I'd say it's about five.

I think if Bundy only goes 3, he won't give up any hits again. No super contact guys on Greenville (an undrafted FA, Bryan Johns, is leading them in OPS. Though he is a Vandy grad, I'm not sure he could do much with Bundy). I think if DB goes 4-5IP (I've heard 4 is a possibility, he might give up a hit or two, as hitters will be used to and waiting on his fastball, and I'm not sure that he's thrown much breaking stuff for anything but a show-pitch yet.

Barnes, I think, will scatter 3-4 hits over 5-6IP, striking out 8-10.

Bundy is scheduled to go 4 IP today.

Here is the combined pitching line of Bundy and Barnes so far:

25 innings
6 hits and .074 batting average against (6-for-54 vs. Barnes, 0-for-27 vs. Bundy)
0 runs
3 walks
40 strikeouts

Aaron Sanchez - 3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 7 K

In the 5th, Vettleson is a 3B short of the cycle. :)

Sanchez is on some kind of pitching-role this season. Whatever he worked on in the off-season is paying off BIG TIME!

No kidding, I am somewhat surprised his stuff is still so cheap - [phil]160785714327[/phil]

http://www.baseballamerica.com/blog/prospects/2012/04/padres-trying-out-jedd-gyorko-at-second-base/

"Jedd Gyorko had a fairly quiet night at the plate on Monday for Double-A San Antonio, going 1-for-4 with a double, but the bigger news was when he took the field at a new position, second base. It was his second straight day at second base after getting a few innings there on Sunday.Gyorko, 23, played second base and shortstop during his college career at West Virginia, but his frame and below-average speed made third base seem like a more natural fit, and the Padres promptly moved him to the hot corner after picking him in the second round in 2010. Before Sunday, Gyorko had made only one appearance at second base as a pro, starting a game there for low Class A Fort Wayne in July 2010.
The Padres don’t lack for quality young third basemen, with Chase Headley in the majors and James Darnell in Triple-A, in addition to Gyorko at Double-A. Second base would present Gyorko a clearer path to the majors, if he can handle it. Of course, he still has to get his bat going as well, since his .238/.351/.365 line after 63 at-bats isn’t beating down the door to San Diego. Still, there’s little doubt about his potential as a line-drive, high-average hitter, but the position change adds a different wrinkle."

This should speed up the process for Jedd and it seems like it gives him more value as a line-drive hitting 2B, rather than a 3B.

If the Padres continue to use him as a 2B, I would say he is the best 2B prospect in the minors.

Nick Franklin is absolutely killing it lately, he went 3 for 6 today, with two doubles, he's 11/16 in his last three games.
