What made you change your mind about The Big Hurt but not Molitor? Just curious.

Because Thomas played more games at DH than on the field and Molitor played more games on the field than at DH.

Yeah, I saw that in the other thread. But as a primary position, DH was the most by far for Molitor and his HoF position is seen as DH. But I understand your arguement when it comes to Thomas in but Molitor out.

What were the totals BTW for Molitor? Did you find the stat outright, or did you have to count?

It's hard to find the actual DH stats for games played. I had to add up all his games played on the field and then subtract that from his games played to get how many games he was at DH.

Billy Butler?

This one was easy, and only needed a single vote - Edgar

I voted for only frank thomas. he was better than martinez. Especially since a DH is a pure hitter and nothing else

I voted for Edgar Martinez, simply because if he does make the Hall of Fame, he will be the first player to make it as a designated hitter. When Frank Thomas makes the Hall of Fame, he will go down as a fielder.

Billy Butler just turned 26 years old and 3 solid years under his belt......lol

DH is obviosely not a position, just a hitter who happens to not be an elite fielder, who happens to play in the AL...

I think if anything, to get a 9th hitter, you should have taken the (8) runner ups at each position, and we could have picked them as the 9th "utility" spot.

There is no such thing as the best "DH"...

This is what I said. This should be a red rover spot... Just nex best hitter to not make the lineup.

That seems kind of silly if we vote in NL players that have never held the position in the batting order. Plus I'm sure when we get to RP we're going to be discussing Closers so yea...DH is just as much a position as that is.
