Why Does Topps Make Pro Debut?

Looking at early auctions, what is the point of this product?
Sticker Autos? Really?
Are there any decent autos in this years set?
Looks pretty weak to me.

I really wish that Topps would put some new manes into Pro Debut.

I hate that 90% of the checklist either A) Had Bowman cards in the past B) Had Pro Debut cards in the past C) Have been in the MLB for months

i was as shocked as anyone when they announced that MiLB Heritage would be returning in 2012

There were some nice patches in this product the past year and getting cards of minor league players in their unis are nice for AAA and AA towns. Affordable too.

Without Bowman's special license this is the state of cards of minor leaguers - the MiLB just isn't popular.

I purchased a couple boxes of the 2010 pro debut its actually a pretty fun break along the lines of base topps.
Its a great set for set builders, player/team collectors and ip/ttm autographers.

Adding a Chrome subset and better inserts would help, I think topps just has not put enough effort into the product to make it something collectors would want to buy in mass.

Pro Debut was better when you could pull cards like these...

And even the Base Jerseys were Jumbo, not the crappy little star shaped thing you get now.

Topps puts the Futures game stuff in Bowman Draft now. Bowman Draft doesn't need Futures Game Patches to sell the product. The cards sell better because they have the Bowman name but it really takes away from Pro Debut.

Personally, I don't like how Topps uses the Pro Debut name either. When TriStar had the name Pro Debut wasn't a set. It was the equivalent of the "First Bowman Chrome" Logo. If the player had his "Pro Debut" that year he would have that logo on the card. Bryce Harper has had a Pro Debut card what, three times?

My Lyles is virtually identical to yours - both upside down patches. Too bad Topps stopped making this subset, they're gorgeous.
