Honestly, I wanted both of them, but was working on a budget, and had already exceeded it with other items I had won during the auction (namely this: http://www.huntauctions.com/phone/imageviewer.cfm?auction_num=100&lot_num=14), so I couldn't bid again on that other one. As for why it went for more, the limited nature of it, the contrast of the tag with the jersey, or who knows what else might have caused it to go for so much more. For me, it was a "bid to win" situation more than anything else.

Really sweet win on the Century auto! I watched that "50" logo for over a month and it was at $40 for most of the time until yesterday and today. Thought I might get a huge steal on that one but it didnt happen.
There wasn't much that was going to go for a cheap price in that auction. I managed to get this at what I thought was a damn good price: http://www.huntauctions.com/phone/imageviewer.cfm?auction_num=100&lot_num=209
What I'm planning on doing is submitting everything that I've won to SGC to have them slab all of the cards as "Ted Williams Collection" items (already talked to them, and will submit the items won with the L O P from Claudia Williams), then post them all out on my website to help ensure that nothing happens to the cards after-market (or at least to help document their original state).

Depending on what you won, I could be very interested.
I won this lot. 27 cards including a Cut Signature card from 2004 Fleer Greats. Also included is a "Crowns of Gold" Game Used bat card from 2001 Fleer, a game used jersey card from 2003 Upper Deck Sweet Spot and a Sweet Spot Classic Red Sox logo patch. In addition there are 23 other cards from various companies including Leaf, Donruss and Upper Deck.
Includes prototypes, proof cards and limited edition issues.

Wholly Smokes that 50s Patch went low :benson: I wish I would have known about these as I would have went after both of those. Im always looking for these type of pieces all the time. I never thought auction houses sold cards. Hopefully whom ever won the Williams 50s patch puts it on ebay for sale. Great Win Guys. Please show them off when you get them .
