So I purchased from a fairly major auction house and received my cards protected between two fresh halves of PSA slabs. Not cracked, not split open...just loose slab sides - complete with the little PSA logo in the lower right.

Considering the rash of fake PSA flips out there, if these things are being used to mail out ungraded cards, surely someone has a ton of these on hand.

Some new grading slabs hit eBay a couple of years back. Crazy these are coming from a auction house.

Here's a scan of the corner showing the PSA impression. (And yes, I know...you're drooling over the scan quality, but this thread isn't about how awesome my scanner is.)

this absolutely needs to happen.

I heart your scanner

It will happen for sure.

I have the Photoshop file mocked up and the labelled grade is "NIGEL 11" instead of "GEM MT 10."

As for the scanner, it's hands down the best that I've owned.

When the 2 sides of the slab are put together, does it appear "frosty" at all, like someone had cracked a card out, or that these were 2 fresh slab halves?

Sean, I was waiting for you to chime in, as I think this is a far bigger thing than the responses show. These are two fresh halves, with all four "nodes" in place where they join together. It's truly a fresh, unused set. Not good.

Makes you wonder. Like I have said before, grading has it's upside for sure. But it's also attracted a lot of pests now hasn't it.
