Wow you Brewers fans are really dreaming big. Do you really think a team is going to give up their top prospects in the farm, arguably in the game for a half year rental? LOL

Glad I'm not alone in thinking they were riding the crazy train for even mentioning Profar/Bundy/Machado. Olt seems to be about the best they'd be able to do.

If I had to put money on it, I would say the Orioles don't get the deal done. They are not deep enough in the farm I think. The only way it gets done is if the Brewers are convinced that they can take one of the young arms we already have and flourish them - Arrieta, Matusz, Tillman, or Britton. I would easily sacrifice one of those guys and two or three mid-tier prospects for half a year of Greinke.

If there is a team in contention that has two or three prospects ranked in the 50-100 range and they really want Greinke, I could see them landing him. It'd be almost like the package the Royals sent to Milwaukee for him, except with 3 less players.

I don't think it will be the Rangers especially since they are dedicated to Oswalt, but I could see a Greinke for Mike Olt and Neil Ramirez type of trade.

Yes, if they want to contend.

Ain't going to happen man. If the team had Greinke under control for 1 1/2 years, I could see it POSSIBLY happening.

I think the Brewers will get another teams #1 prospect.

That's entirely possible. But they won't get a Top 15 prospect in all of MLB.

I don't know what it is. It's like one day he has it all together and the next 3-4 starts he's lost. Same with Arrieta.

Maybe a different voice and different approach from a new pitching coach would help both of them too. Rick Kranitz was the pitching coach in Baltimore in 2010 when Matusz finished the season with a 7-2 record from July til the end of the season after a rough first 3 months.

I would think the Cubs are in a better position with Garza than the Brewers and Greinke. I know better than to think Profar/Bundy/Machado but I could see them landing Castellanos for him and Barney.

What so they can lose 95 games instead of 100? And waste their future on a rental

Mike Olt is, AT MAXIMUM, the highest ranked prospect on ANY list that the Brewers can reasonably hope to land.

Put the Koolaid down, buddy.

As an aside, it's STAGGERING that ZERO of the O's big pitching prospects appear to be a good MLB pitcher. You'd think one out of Tillman, Matusz, Britton, and Arrieta would pan out. Maybe one still will, but they all look terribly inconsistent

Not going to homer this post, Matusz and Arrieta have been more inconsistent than any religion associated with the Bible. Tillman, between his last 7 starts in AAA and his great start a few days ago against the Mariners, looks promising, but we'll see.

I wholeheartedly believe Arrieta will put it together one day, whoever he is with. His one start vs the Yankees this year was just flat out dominant. I don't think a baserunner reached 2nd base in 8 innings. His stuff is amazing. It's mind-boggling that he has the numbers he does.

Not talking crap, being sensible. One Guy pitching every 4-5 days is not going to do anything for the team and he's going to be a free agent in 2013...do you really think he would resign to play there?
