Question when it comes to grading a card, etc.

Have you ever had a rare card that you wanted slabbed for authentication purposes but you didn't want it graded because it would probably get like an 8 or less? Is this possible? I have some rare '90s inserts which would be nice slabbed and authenticated but not graded because they wouldn't be a extremely high grade. Just wondering... remember I've never graded a card, so this might be stupid question

Yes, you just request a Authentic flip and no grade.
