It's not really The Open until the wind gets up to 20mph and the rains falls...

Dan's the man. Things work so great in the MT how they are. If his starting the MT nets him reward - so be it. Same with whoever starts on the weekends (I usually don't post on the weekends as much). What the winners choose to do with the money is their decision, but it'd be pretty cool to see such winnings go into a "MT Pool" for MT related activities like possible group breaks, wedding/birthday gifts.

I have no problem with whoever wins the money. Even if its the same person month after month.

hey, any luck getting your deal completed?

I had something worked out prior to starting to ask around for help on the forums. See, I asked an eBay seller (who had GQ mini lots up for auction) if he has any leather minis. He went to storage and found a leather mini I need and a Dale Murphy mini press plate. He asked me to make an offer. I offered $100 for the pair. Silence ensued for weeks. Then that very leather mini turned up on eBay and I went WTF?

I asked him what was up with the silent treatment. He just wanted to see if he would make more $$ if he auctioned them off. I explained that I don't want the Murphy mini press plate to appear on eBay since I already made an agreement with the Murphy collector that we would do this trade...and if it shows up on eBay, chances the trade would be called off.

Guess what? He already listed the said plate two weeks ago and it sold. To whom, you ask? The very same Murphy collector.

WTF, indeed. Why didn't the seller just point out that he put the plate up for auction? Why didn't the collector come forth and say it's there on eBay? *growls*

I asked the collector what's up. He thought I was referring to the other size (regular vs mini). Yeah, right. Of course, he still insists that I find something for trade...as he doesn't seem sympathetic to my "bad break." I located his leather mini months ago...he agreed to swap it for another copy (which I haven't found yet so far) but would also swap it for something he doesn't have yet. The problem is that he has over 7,800 cards already...so it'll be difficult to find something he doesn't have...other than 1/1s outside eBay.

I just have to keep working on it... *grumbles*

How's everybody doing this afternoon? Went in and painted for about 4 hours, but painting in a building with no A/C in 100+ heat isn't too fun. And I've only been posting in the MT this week, but I don't have a problem with Dan winning the money since he contributes so much to the boards

I am doing good. I wasted the day playing COD and watching CNN. I got absolutely nothing done today.

Tomorrow I have to figure out my blazer tire issue.

The Murphy press plate (GQ mini yellow)? It was up for auction. Sold at its min bid of $75.

He has the Dempster leather mini 10/10 up for auction now....min bid of $25. I'll get that...grudgingly.

Trying to get the collector's Murphy leather mini 01/10.

So the Murph collector is not set on having the 1/10 and would exchange it for a different number? Honestly i would win the card and leave this guy neutral feedback after that explaining that he was very difficult to deal with. Some people may disagree since it was a deal you coordinated off Ebay but the guy seems like a ******.

Yeah, the Murphy collector doesn't care about specific numbers. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the Ichiro collector who has the Ichiro 01/10. He covets the number 1. Darn it.

That eBay seller...I guess he was just fishing for prices and use them as minimum bid amounts....never intended to sell them outside eBay in the first place.

Buyer has paid, and I'm off to the Post Office. Someone posted a card like this early today here. I have one I pulled from my 2 cases of Jumbo's. It's going in to get graded.

Am i blind? i dont see the dempster on ebay. I would wait and only bid if someone else bids. Because then if it ends without a bid he will look like an ass. Sorry to hear about the Ichiro.

Thanks for all of the support guys. If it works out where I win more than once, I will figure out a way to spread the wealth...

Oh, I'll have to bid on it to be on the safe side. Dempster's dad has the 01/10.

If it were me i would start randomly gifting PC cards to people. $100 a month you could easily get someone a decent PC card and still have a few bucks left over for yourself.
