Source: Dodgers have acquired Hanley Ramirez and Choate from Marlins for Eovaldi and a minor leaguer. Game changes in LA. Marlins selling.

I mean, Hanley is a bum, but Nathan Eovaldi? He has to be worth more than that..

Wow... The Marlins front office act like the world is coming to end and are jumping from tall buildings... I don't get it. New manager, stadium, field... heck even a new team... well, we suck in the 1st 100 games we played. RESET BUTTON.

I hate that approach.

What a steal for the Dodgers! And it's not a rental, either. Ramirez is signed for 2013 and '14. Maybe a new team will give him the spark to become the great player he once was. If not, he's still much better than Juan Uribe's .190 avg at third base and injured Dee Brown's weak hitting at shortstop.

Not much in return but the Dodgers are picking up the whole tab and with them just trading Eovaldi it seems they are still in on either Dempster or Garza

Awesome to see LA's front office doing something to get better....and trade deadline is still a few days away so we can get an arm!

Has Hanley's value really declined that much? That is one blatantly lopsided trade if I've ever seen one.

Whys that? Aviles has been just as good as Hanley this year, and better if you factor in defense.

Great move by the Dodgers...hopefully they'll move HanRam back to SS with Dee out.

Congrats for what? Adding an enormously talented, yet petulant, immature, and uncaring player whose lack of effort drives everyone insane? He's the typical guy that has all of the talent in the world, but wastes it because nothing, not even a crapload of money nor winning, can motivate him to give 100% effort day in and day out? He's the worst kind of professional athlete

EDIT: meant to quote MojoDans comment

Keyser - I was only aware of the talent aspect, and think going to LA might benefit him.

Yeah what he said, Marlins getting rid of a clubhouse cancer for next to nothing shows how much of a pain in the ass this guy is. If he was hitting over .300 with 20HR they would have put up with it. Maybe a change of scenery will spark his interest or the chance to compete. He as been stuck on some pretty bad Marlins teams.

Is it just me or does it seem like most teams are getting stars in return for next to nothing. Teams are selling off star players really low this year.

I think I saw the Marlins shopping him around on eBay. Dodgers must have set their snipe and it went off lower than anyone thought. Great eBay steal if you ask me.
