The @NashvilleSounds getting 'prospecty.' Thornburg sent back to start, Hiram Burgos makes great debut, OF Khris Davis promoted from AA.

Thornburg was sent down with "tired" arm, wasn't used to bullpen work, will be back in Milwaukee soon. Well deserved promotion for the moost underrated prospect in MILB for me Khris Davis.

Some internal discussion about "Minor League Guy".

The Cardinals have spoken "internally" about calling up outfield prospect Oscar Taveras.

That's what Joe Strauss of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch told a local radio program on Monday morning. Taveras, 20, is batting .324/.385/.578 with 19 home runs, 28 doubles and 75 RBI in 97 games this season at the Double-A level. He doesn't have a direct avenue to regular playing time right now in the bigs, but Taveras would certianly be useful as a bench bat in September. Jul 30 - 10:10 AM

Posted by Jim Callis- his ASK BA column re-ranking Brewers prospects after Greinke trade.

Jean Segura, ss
Should provide plus offense, average defense for shortstop.
Tyler Thornburg, rhp
Big league struggles aside, has upside as potential No. 3 starter.
Wily Peralta, rhp
Hasn't been able to harness his explosive stuff this summer.
Jimmy Nelson, rhp
Has promising sinker/slider combo but hit speed bump in Double-A.
Ariel Pena, rhp
Better chance to start than Hellweg because he has superior command.
Johnny Hellweg, rhp
Though he's huge and throws hard, still has a lot to learn on the mound.
Scooter Gennett, 2b
Solid bat with some gap power, average speed and defense, good instincts.
Taylor Jungmann, rhp
The 12th overall pick in 2011 has shown average stuff and command in pro debut.
Jed Bradley, lhp
Taken three choices after Jungmann, has battled mechanics and struggled even worse.
Clint Coulter, c
The No. 28 overall selection in June has power, needs work behind the plate

Surprised Roache didn't make an appearance somewhere on that list. Injury aside, he still ranked very high on BA's pre-draft boards.

Apparently, June through July doesn't qualify as the summer anymore. Or, summer, to him, was June 22.

Probably not an Ace. Hence, the lack of commotion.
