It seems HPC and others on here think so. But I heard on the radio (I was listen to) the GM from the D-backs said Upton is a big part of this team now, since they are 3.5 back. And he said there is no deal with the Cubs for him either. I really think they are keeping him and will trade in the off season if he is not a free-agent next year.

Upton not in play: While reports swirl that the Diamondbacks are trying hard to add a big-name starting pitcher, you can remove one potential trade chip from the conversation. MLB.com's Steve Gilbert reports that Justin Upton will not be part of a deal to bring in someone like Matt Garza.

That combination was floated in some rumors on Tuesday, but if Arizona adds a starter, it won't be by parting with Upton. How exactly the Snakes would bring in a big name remains to be seen.
