Hahahaha

I will say this is how PED testing and positive tests should be handled. Positive around AS break and no one in the world heard a peep of it. This is how the Braun situation should have been handled regardless of what the outcome may have been. Nothing should be leaked until the final verdict has been made.

Glad to see the MLB tightened this up.

Actually, there was a rumor that was posted on Twitter that Melky tested positive that was tweeted by Andrew Baggerly. He apologized for posting it when it wasn't supposed to be. Melky at the time denied it.

Does this mean the AL can have home field advantage because the All Star Game MVP tainted the game with his juicing powers.

This couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. I typically don't root against any players regardless of team but Melky is on that short list.

This is a great example of kinda getting an idea of how it impacts performance.

PED's have the ABILITY, and i stress that word because they are not going to automatically make you a good player.

Melky was a somewhat decent average hitting player. I think it's safe to say they made him above average. He was alway a average hitter. Not bad, not great, but in the area of .282-300 as he was a .284 career hitter. Thats already good. He did not have power. But .282 is pretty good in baseball as i think everyone will agree on that. With the help of PED's he became a pretty darn good above average hitter as he was currently hitting 60+ points higher than his career batting average.

PED's have the ability to enhance certain aspects. Melky did not become a Power Hitter like Brett Boone did or Brady Anderson or Luis Gonzalez did.
They made his contact hitting ability better. As he was already a good contact Hitter.

Barry Bonds was a all around Star Power Hitting Player.
Barry Bonds was a power hitter without PED's. Barry Bonds became a LEGENDARY power hitter with PED's. They increased his Power as well as his
all around already great hitting Prowess.

Someone said it best about PED's on a radio show this morning. "They wont make a slow guy an Olympic Sprinter. But they have the ability to make what you already do good , make you do a crapload of alot better".

I agree with most of what you said. It depends on which steroids he was using. Water based steriods are not made to get the users "big" water based are used to get the user ripped and helps with athletics big time. Winny-v and premo are the popular choice.

I'm just curious HOW exactly testosterone will make your contact better. If he's making contact, then he's making contact. Are you saying he's just hitting the ball "harder", thus, fewer line-outs/ground-outs? This is an honest question. I understand that testosterone gives you more energy and maybe builds a few muscles, but these guys, if they don't bulk-up extreme, are already pretty big.

Chalk it up to what I don't understand about testosterone.

Testosterone does not make you a better contact hitter. Testosterone builds and repairs muscle tissue. Any benefits of testosterone derive from the muscle that you build and whatever benefits you would achieve by gaining muscle. It is quite possible that he has been taking them for years and this year he finally put it all together.

Since it rebuilds and repairs tissue faster, if a person works out their upper body religiously, it can lead to increased bat speed, which can reduce the amount of strikeouts a player can have while also increasing contact.

So yes, test can indirectly make you a better contact hitter
