You obviously don't know the history... We care... After 15 years of losing seasons, it's a little skeptical for those who do not want to get all excited for the O's.

I do give a damn. And I am F*&CKING proud of both Orioles and Ravens. No need to diss any teams. I respect any opponents as long as they respect me.

oh I know guys like you, marky, aic, all star ect are big O's fans. just sucks they don't draw flys to the games anymore even with having such a good season and great ballpark to watch games in. Love Camden Yards the one time I was there.

2 HR and 2 RBI since the Melk Man was busted.

Must be breaking Cano's poor heart to see his buddy go down.

So who would you rather have at 2nd base? Jayson Nix? Or would you rather trade Cano for....Brandon Phillips? Ian Kinsler? Dustin Pedroia? Chase Utley? Maybe a platoon of Eduardo Nunez/Ramiro Pena.

I've been saying for a few years now that the O's were knocking on the door of a good team. I guess I was a little early in saying that but I'm really hoping that they can pull this one off this year and get into the playoffs. You fans more than deserve it!

Cano had 16 RBI over his first 42 games. (20-22 Team Record)

Cano has 16 RBI in his last 42 games. (21-21 Team Record)

Cano had 17 HOME RUNS (38 RBI) in the 46 games between those two periods. (33-13 Team Record)

Looking at his stats there isn't anything that sticks out as being horrible. I'd imagine that has something to do with the fact that he was scorching hot for 1/3 of the season and cold for the other 2/3.

The city of Baltimore DOES give a crap about their team. Television ratings are up 40%, attendence will top 2 million for the first time in 5 years and almost impossibly, the Orioles have supplanted the Ravens on the talk radio circuit. It's almost non-stop O's on the stations here and the attendence topic is always at the heart of the debate. Our main fan board www.orioleshangout.com set a record tonight for most visitors. There are several factors to be considered dealing with our low attendence last week....at the foremost has to be this ill-conceived Baltimore Grand Prix which has made navigating downtown a nightmare.

And my point being, look at the record of the Yankees when he was scorching hot and when he's not. The Yankees clearly need him and he's their best player. That's all I'm saying.

Doesn't help that A-Rod and Teixeira are injured, CC missed about a month of the season between two DL stints, the middle of the bullpen has imploded due to the heavier workload with the pitching troubles, including Pettitte breaking a leg and Nova regressing to a ridiculous extent. Oh, and MLB's top rated defensive player of 2011 and their best SB threat has missed nearly the entire season. Oh yeah, and the Greatest Closer Ever has been out all season due to freak injury.

All that and still in first place. Maybe not much longer, but still in first despite sleeping through the past month.

EDIT: And now Granderson is out with a tight right hammy. Likely to miss time with that, wiping out the entire middle of the order.

But he was anywhere near consistent....

It's not like when Cano is slumping he doesn't drive in runs because there aren't people on base. It's because he swings at pitches 6 feet outside and in the dirt, and pops up on the first pitch with runners on base.

In the 28 games Andruw Jones has played in since the All Star Break, he is hitting 0.139.

I wonder what in Girardi's Binders says he should be the clean up hitter.
