if healthy the staff is fine (fister when healthy is a number two, when healthy last year he actualy pitched better than mvp verlander when coming from the mariners to the tigers)...check out the numbers, its the offense that has been lacking

Just because he is 7-1 after the AS break does not erase his 8-5 start with a near 5 ERA. He is pitching as a #2 yet he should be a #3 or #4.

My comment was more about the lack of what the Tigers have not what they do have. They needed to acquire some pitching last off season but did not; going into the season who honestly thought this was a WS pitching staff?

Agreed; back to my first comment I also mention that they replaced Vmart and did not get better on offense. Fact they needed to add another bat and at least one pitcher in the off season.......they spent their money on Prince and that was it.

If I were a Tigers fan I would be upset that management, not Jimmy, failed to make moves. Baltimore, Oakland, and W Sox all made moves and are sitting in first place.

We didn't make any jaw-dropping moves and yet the moves we did make, their contribution has been jaw-dropping.

Last year the Cards acquired Rhodes, Dotel, and Jackson.....not jaw dropping but they ended up being integral to the WS.

They've made moves just like last year. Sanchez and Infante were big pickups. The main issue isn't pitching at this point. It's the hitting. They just don't hit well after the first four guys. The first four hit over .300, and the last 5 hit below .250. That's the real issue.
