I think if you have a notable star (Jeter, Arod, Chipper, Pujols and so on) I would keep them. I see these heading into BIG money territory. You have the player collectors and set builders. Take for instance Jeter, how many HARD CORE collectors does he have? Way more than 5 and if somebody is trying to put the set together that just adds to the fire. Then you have the team collectors. That is a lot of attention for a card with a print run of 5.

Would it have helped if they had more flair? I have one and they are pretty flat looking as far as a parallel goes. If it had a black refractor border it would make it much better looking IMO.

Its funny theyre silver like Topps platinum but theyre actually the black parallel. no clue why they did this.

beckett has them listed as silver so I would advise anyone selling to put silver in the title b/c we still have a bunch of sheep that follow Beckett. I'm going to put black platinum and silver in my titles, lol

Whenever I see this (and I see this a lot), I just assume the seller doesn't know what color platinum is.

You can assume it about me but I do it so the buyers that type in platinum and don't know the true color of it, see my auctions. They are searching for platinum and they found it!

Well, the cards do have a silver border. I would have to say Topps is horrible on this one. Apparently someone on their end screwed up the packaging and they just said the hell with it. Or they just decided to name them black even though they have a silver border. Either way, I think Topps is the bigger idiot on this one. Beckett also blows, just a little less on this one.
