Three or four years ago, that Lincecum-Francis match-up would be for CY Young votes. Interesting to see how they do, both been so up and down this year...

And the OVER is probably the way to go on that Royals-Twins match-up LOL!

Josh Johnson has not allowed a hit thru 5...

But Lee hasn't allowed a run, so it's 0-0.

Matt Harvey is pitching great against the Nats. One mistake resulted in a Zim homer.

5IP 4H 1ER 1BB 10K

not too shabby against a team like the Nats.

My thoughts from around the league:

Ryan Zimmerman is quietly having an outstanding year.

Jonathan Papelbon only gets mentioned when he fails. ERA under 2.50 this year and all I've heard about him has been how bad he is. (Which is not to say he has not had his rough spots and deserved that attention, but overall he's done well and I never see that mentioned.)

Cano with his 30th homer. By far the best player on the Yankees right now.

He's one of the few closers this season who hasn't:
A. Sucked
B. Been injured
C. Been demoted from the closer role

The Phillies knew what they were going to get with Paps....I just think they paid a tad much for him.

Salty becomes the 4th or 5th guy this year to miss the Cycle by not getting the Single. HR'd in the 9th to make it 5-4. Unfortunately, that was the Final and the O's and Yanks are again tied.

But the O's had first place all alone for about 15-20 minutes LOL!

In case you didn't see it, Fielder's 29th HR was an absolute bomb Moonshot. Not far, but man, high and in the air a LONG time...

And Encarnicion HR (39).

Gallardo is now 15-8

He should have 3 more wins, no thanks to his bullpen.

He has the most quality starts in the league.

If he was 18-8 (maybe with fewer losses, since there was 1 game that he took the loss while only giving up 1 ER), would he get a mention in the Cy Young disscussion?
