Yes, seriously. Believe it or not, I went to you as a fellow board member and Juan expert for advice on selling the card. You answered none of my questions and instead low-balled me with an offer.

But you didn't make me an offer as a Juan collector because you are no longer a Juan collector. You are a Juan seller. You were trying to make a buck off me - quite a few, actually. So the only reason you're bitter is that you didn't get to flip my card. And because you are bitter, you tried to portray me as holding cards hostage against fellow board members. In other words, you lied.

Yes, I went to JuanGone to sell my card to the top bidder. But that's not my board. I don't owe those folks anything. Ask the guy that bought it and I bet he's still thrilled with our deal.

In the end I'm grateful we had that exchange because I now know not to ever trust you. I'm also grateful that there are members like George here at FCB that have given me great advice. When TNP777 asked me today about his new Piazza, I gave him a couple of paragraphs of thoughtful consideration. It's a great community here even with the bad apples.

Thanks for this opportunity for the airing of grievances... now on to the feats of strength

WTF! I saw those two Stand Up Guys "Samples" last night and submitted correction requests; they should have been fixed this morning at some point. That seller had a ton of mislabeled cards, I think I submitted 25 corrections as I was going through the new listings of just his cards; all but one were listed as more expensive cards (and I bought the one that wasn't, and it was a good score :D ). You should talk to someone from COMC and see if there's anything they can do about that.

Cool - thanks for this info. I'll use it when I get a hold of Customer Service.

I am the most trust worthy person you will ever come across! Just so happens i say it like it is some times. What is a lowball offer on a card no one knows what it's worth? PC collectors held hostage film at 11! I deleated the dirty laundry post.

Sharing information on a public board is a double edged sword. On one hand you're sharing quality information with fellow collectors what's rare/hard to find. On the other hand, you're educating guys who are just out to make money. Buying anything/everything collectors want. Sucks....but it's true.

A whole set (?) of 1996 Ultra Thunderclap Gold Medallions got posted on COMC overnight, but it looks like it has already been picked over.

Hey Everyone,
I know a guy that has a pretty great inventory of 1990's and 2000's cards. I bought his Larkin's a few months back and he gave me a good deal on some really nice cards (even had more than a few I didn't have). I also picked up my 1996 Studio Silver Press Proofs from him. Anyways, he is an older gentlemen and he is selling off a lot of his cards. He is a really great guy to deal with and you can trust him.

I told him that I knew quite a few player collectors and he asked me to put the word out to the people I thought might be interested. I can't promise that he will be able to help out everyone, but I am pretty sure he can help out most of you. He mentioned specifically that "I have a good inventory of the superstars: Jeter, ARod, Bonds, McGwire, Clemens, etc. Also, some football, basketball and hockey, but somewhat more limited."

I don't want to just post his email address on the forum, but those who are interested can send me a PM with your email address and who you are looking for. I will email him your address and have him contact you directly and you guys can take it from there. Just so you know, there is absolutely nothing in this for me, I just told him I would put the word out for him. You will be dealing directly with him. In order to avoid issues, if I receive more than one email looking for a certain player, the first message will take precedence. I believe I already put him in contact with one of the Griffey collectors a couple months back, so I'm not sure if he bought a lot of his Griffey cards or not.

I already received one request for Rickey, so someone else beat you to it. But if you want to send me your email via PM, I will let him know that you are looking too. The first guy will get first crack to be fair though.

They are tough as hell to find even though they are numbered /3000. I've only seen about 3 copies of my guy ever. I bought the 2nd one I saw because I got outbid on the first. I've owned a Thomas, Mattingly, Griffey, and currently have a Piazza that is creased in the middle.
