So then why are you trying to get authenticated prices?

It isnt about $$$ hungry authenticators, its making sure what someone is buying is real.

Or money hungry sellers wanting authenticated prices. Can't have it both ways. Just plain silly to rip authentication, and then quote the prices. If you want someone else to enjoy them, raw Cobb checks are going for $500-600.

Can I ask why you always need to be so rude in your replies or so negative? Just wondering. A check is a check, some people actually like them NOT SLABBED so they can do something with them. Not everything has to be certified by the $$$ hungry authenticators.

Because i don't agree with your backwards logic.

A check isn't always a check. Many are signed by wives or secretaries. I know I have in many occasions let my wife fill out my checks. That is the need for authentication. Not to put words in your mouth but I am getting the impression you are well aware of this already and that is why we haven't seen pictures and these haven't been authenticated. Stand behind your product and get the proper certs for these. Otherwise you might as well take them to craigslist with all the other questionable stuff there.

You have to see why the rhetoric was necessary right? Debate leads to education.

Yea, this thread shouldn't be a gauge for whether you like or dislike the site. Drop into the morning thread and say hello and tell us what you collect! Welcome!

You are crazy dude at $500 to $600, I didn't rip authentication, I ripped the prices they charge. Look what it costs to get a Ty Cobb Slabbed.

An unathenticated Cobb check just ended for $550. That's the reality. No PSA/JSA paperwork, expect to get WAY less.

100% money back guarantee if received back in original condition. I specifically hand-picked these over my years of collecting, bought back in early 1990's before stuff went crazy, no reason to think these are not legit. Oh yeah I forgot, I wanted to fake the Clemente and put some Tom Hughes and Dick Groat on the same piece of paper.

Good way to pass off a fake because people would think "This can't be fake. Who would put these two other guys near it if they were faking a Clemente?" and thus give it more legitimacy. It's the same thought process that people use when making counterfeit 20 dollar bills as opposed to 100 dollar bills. Go with the lesser looking, draw less attention, still make out money wise.

This wasn't meant to be against you or even saying you did anything. Rather, just pinging on that last statement you made about the other two guys near Clemente and potential thought processes behind it if it was in fact a fake. Personally, I have no idea, but I would avoid *** altogether, even if it was the "old" ***.

Did you submit that Red Grange AU index card to PSA/DNA or did you get it like that? I only ask because in the item description it says "...now slabbed and authenticated for preservation" by PSA/DNA. It reads as if you sent it into PSA/DNA which I would then wonder why you didn't send the others in.

Do you have cleaner scans/photos of the Cobb checks? The one on ebay isn't that good at all, kind of fuzzy. I don't know. You posted this thread 5 days ago for a few serious pieces of memorabilia but say that work is in the way. Yet, you are able to post on here throughout the five days. It may be nothing, but to an outsider looking it, something doesn't pass the smell test.

I bought and buy things all of the time if the price is right. I have not had one thing PSA slabbed yet, although I have had PSA authenticate baseballs, etc. Just too pricey for Clemente Ruth, Cobb and others.

We should call this site, sour grapes or lets nit pick everybody's collection and what they say. At first I was going to post all scans, just haven't had time.

It's not nit picking, it's calling it for what it is.

When things like this are floating around out there, don't expect people to NOT inquire about something's authenticity.
