Winner takes all. Simply pick a team to win during the week. If you are correct you move on, if not you are out of the tournament.
Basically you choose one team to win a game this week. For example if you choose the Patriots to win and they DO win, you "survive" and move on to week 2. Once you pick a team and use them, they are used up for the entire year, so there is a little strategy involved (but not much). If you don't win your pick, you are eliminated from the game. The game lasts until there is one final player or the end of the season (possible tie).
