Topps is pathetic. Seriously can we please get some other card companies a licence to produce some cards.

You do realize this isn't the first time this has happened. Every company had done this before.

The holograms are tamper-proof. You can't switch them without destroying them.

This isn't true. These stickers are tamper-resistant, not tamper-proof. I have several items with the MLB hologram stickers on them. It would be very easy to take the stickers off without damaging them, especially with jerseys. Let me clarify, I am not suggesting this is what happened. I'm sure Topps just Toppsed it up.

vwnut13, you should change the title of this thread. I almost didn't click on it yesterday because "Topps Triple Threads ASG Laundry Tag Book 1/1" just sounds like a generic thread of a scan or link of a card I'm not interested in.

I'm sure you'd have much more than just 26 replies on such a controversial subject if you worded it more interestingly to highlight the magnitude of Topps' incompetence.

Done.

So if Topps messed up the swatches on the Laundry Tag cards of these players, are all the other swatches for these players wrong too?

Does it say anywhere that the Laundry tag is specific to this player worn? I know the patch does on the left, but the Laundry Tag just says one-of-one All-Star Game Laundry Tag, which it is. In that case, it's fine.
Mix and match your players like the old-school 1997-2000 Pacific Cardsupials....

Even if the laundry tag doesn't state it is from a specific player it is still very misleading and deceptive in my opinion. To me it's false advertising and by having a jersey piece, patch or tag inserted with a specific player's card I believe is intentionally done to deceive people into believing it is from that player, no matter what vague language they use on the back to try and cover themselves legally.

Here's how the backs of these cards are worded:

"THIS IS AN MLB ALL-STAR GAME JERSEY LAUNDRY TAG RELIC CARD OF (PLAYER'S NAME/PLAYER'S MLB TEAM/PLAYER'S POSITION) FROM 2012 TOPPS TRIPLE THREADS BASEBALL. THE RELICS CONTAINED ON THIS CARD ARE FROM A JERSEY WORN DURING THE 2011 MLB ALL-STAR GAME FESTIVITIES."

So, the Halladay card specifically states that it is the laundry tag from Halladay's jersey.

BTW, I'm not yelling at anyone. Topps has it written in all caps, so I did the same.

If Topps expects people to drop hundreds (or thousands) of dollars on their products, they need to maintain the integrity of their manufacturing process. In the memorabilia business, the reputation of the entity certifying the memorabilia on the card is an authentic is everything. If Topps is too sloppy to ensure it is certifying the item of the proper player, then it casts doubt on most of their products.

Ummm...Topps screwed this up last year with the Triple Threads Booklets. I recall posting about a Tommy Hanson booklet that had his uni on the left panel and a Rangers letter patch on the right panel.
