The season was a train wreck... when he threw his coaching staff under the bus... he signed the death sentence on his coaching career. Stick a fork in him... he's DONE!

If the Red Sox didn't know what they were getting in Bobby Valentine when they first hired him, then they are fools. The guy has been nuts for a long time. That being said, I don't think you can blame that terrible season on him.

I don't think this team was a 100 win team but I think he got a minimum out of the talent and his managerial inabilities probably cost the team 10-15 wins.

That said maybe management can get a major league ss, c, 1b, lf, mrp and shoot dice k like a crippled pony.

Take a quick look around the MLB and see brandon moss, David Murphy, josh reddick playing roles in playoff pushes pisses me off. They have these guys away and couple that with what they threw away for big nAmes you are missing a solid team.

Can anyone want to manage the Red Sox right now? The new manager will have to face-off against prima donna players, team higher ups that gives you no backing, rabid fans, and annoying media. Makes working for Jeffrey Loria lucrative.

But Josh Reddick for Andrew Bailey...

It's a good thing Bailey was hurt most of the year, because they probably would have lost 100 with him.
