the giants are world series champs! who would have thought that after all the buster posey drama in the offseason we would be seeing this on a cold october night to cap off the 2012 season! the yankees for a third straight year did not win the world series! congrats sf giants fans!

I think the sweep was planned with Hensley Meulens schedule in mind. After all, he's now got to head south and take up his role as manager of the Bravos de Margarita for the Venezuelan Winter League. Couldn't have this World Series thing dragging on 'til Christmas, could they?

But the team definitely played well and just took the fight out of the Tigers. Beating Verlander the way they did in the first game just demoralized that squad and they never took their boots off their throats. Now I'll spend the rest of the off season constantly hearing it at work. Oh joy.

Gotta agree. Between being in Bermuda last week and my general lack of interest in the Giants, I didn't watch more than 3 combined minutes of this world series. It's a shame the Tigers didn't show up and the Giants won by default. (that'll ruffle a few feathers...)
