Sounds like Clyde Doepner is going to be in charge of TwinsFest this year.

From a collector's standpoint, how do you think he will do?

Two questions I'm hoping more informed people can fill me in on:
1. Wasn't Clyde linked to some "scandal" when the Twins did their garage sale a few years ago and he got the best stuff first?
2. Being in charge of TwinsFest, what does he exactly control? Seems like it would be the same old tried and true formula from the past.

1. I haven't heard of anything.

2. I don't know anything about the position, but seeing as he is an avid collector himself, maybe he convinces some guys that don't make any appearances to come back?

Clyde supposedly had the team "hide" banners and the foul poles which I found and he grabbed from me saying they were his which I guess he had set in his stuff I didn't know but there was alot of people not happy he had gotten some things because it seemed he knew exactly where certain things were at in piles even.

He seemingly has inside information that he uses and has in his possession some of the greatest twins items simply because he has the inside help. I'm sure any of us would use that connection to our benefit too.

I hope at twinsfest they do the wristband idea again that seemed fair and help me get through other lines as you kinda had an idea as if you were going to get through lines or not.

I'd be happy with just one TwinsFest change--having a few doors open for fans who want to get in early and go directly to the show and not have to stand in line with 95% of the people there for autographs.

I liked the wristband idea myself. Gives me hope that I will be able to get Mauer this year on my project.

I know a lot of the big collectors that are able to wait hate it, but that's okay.

I also really liked the wristband idea. Waiting outside for 4+ hours in January is absurd to get someone's autograph, especially Mauer. It's not fair to the people who can't really afford to do that. I was able to get Mauer last year on Saturday and my girlfriend got him on Sunday and it was great. I hope they do it again this year.

It also gives the casual fan the chance to meet Mauer as well.

Not as bad as waiting for just over 13 hours for Yount at Brewers fest before they did wrist bands...

Anyone here in the New Ulm area?

Just wondering if you have a ball-park time for the Menards opening?

I originally heard next May, now I am hearing December-March.

I just want to make sure I don't miss the signings.

:o There is no way I would EVER wait that long for someone, unless maybe if it was a free signing for someone like Puckett or Killebrew..
I waited 5 hours to be first in line to get first dibs on Sano and Rosario jerseys:D which were going to be auctioned of at Twinsfest, until the Twins signed a PDC with CR.

Had a nice little mailday today. Sorry to bore you guys with 20 scans. Also got in some Twins Diamond/Cognac parallels and a few Twins Topps Golds that I needed but didn't scan.

Awesome pickups! I've gotten a couple so far this week, but I'll wait until I get a few more to post them. If anybody has any of the lower-end parallels of Liam Hendriks from 2012 Bowman Chrome I am interested in them.

I think the wristband idea is great. I personally think they should do a hybrid system. Do the wristbands so those of us who don't want to wait around have a chance, do a single line where the first so many people automatically make it in and then charge a big number like $50 for a few people who want to be guaranteed a spot without paying or relying on chance.

As for me, I go for the show and think it's crazy that I wait in the same line as everyone else and I have zero interest in autographs in that venue. I just want to buy some things.

Here is my latest Cuddy pickup
This is an original artwork by Chris Henderson that was used to make the 2010 National Chicle Cuddyer Card

The art was created using Copic Markers, Acrylic Paints, Opaque Watercolor and Colored Pencil. The image area is approximately 6 x 8 3/4 inches on a 10 x 13 inch piece of Crescent Watercolor Board.

Chris included a signed card with the painting. Gonna frame this baby up to display.
